New Open Source Tune: Lamborghini Huracan RWD (S800 Balanced)

Hey Death,

unfortunately I found some errors in my calculation and needed to correct springs and ARBs. Please find updated numbers in my original post.

Finally had the chance to built the car and to try your tuning settings on Yas Marina North.

Your setup was very drivable and balanced, definitely a good job. The only thing I noticed is that it was a bit difficult to manoeuvre it through the esses and the chicane before the harpin. You have to slow down a tiny bit too much with your setup and I really think its the low bump. With your setup I managed in a 10 lap run a 1.11.2. Also I got the impression that the braking distance was too long probably because of too much camber. It’s very apparent at the end of the long straight.

I then slapped my calculated tune on the car and was very quickly able to drive a 1.10.5. However I noticed two flaws right out of the box with my calculated settings: the accel was a bit too low so I needed to turn it up to the default 70% again and for some reason the calculation of the front camber is still off and I had to reduce it to 1.7. Both changes have been updated in my post above.

I also put the ride height to minimum and changed brake pressure to 125% (my preference).

I’m eager to know how you like the tune!

Ok one final touch to the setup

  • Front aero slightly reduced
  • ARBs slightly decreased
  • rebound slightly increased

Managed now a 1.10.1, 1.09. should be possible.

Tune is updated accordingly

Wow! That sounds excellent! Thanks for all the input and advice. I’ve been busy work-wise the last couple of days. I’ll try this out this weekend.

Cheers!

Hey fifty inch,

Well, I ran some laps this weekend and your changes definitely helped! I see what you mean with that section at the chicane up to the hairpin…it seemed to be more consistent. (This is still a challenging section for me!) But I was able, in rivals, to improve to the low 1:13s (about #260 in the Americas). I know I could get into the 1:12s with some practice. Man, you guys are quick! I need to start learning how to use the clutch, I think. But, thanks a lot for jumping in and helping out with this! I really appreciate it.

Regards,
Death

Hey Death,

Glad that I could help you a bit. And yes should switch to manual with clutch, this will definitely gain you some tenths.

Best regards
Fifty

Hey fifty,

I just ran some laps and improved to a 1:13.029 and #249 in the Americas…I’ll get there yet!

I found out that I was locking the front brakes and adjusted the bias more to the rear. That made a difference at the end of the long straight. No more locking the fronts. I want to break into the 1:12s!!

Regards,
Death

Oh YEAH!!! I just hit 1:12.890, #232 in the Americas!!!

Cheers!

Improved to 1:12.732! #213 in the Americas…

Great tune
thanks

My pleasure! Glad you’re likin’ it!

You’re onto it, keep going!

BTW: what did you set the brake balance at: 47%?

Hey fifty,

That’s it! Is that what you set yours to? Man, it really helped!

No I was running with 48% and didn’t notice any problems, but if 47% suites your driving style better then it’s OK.

Hey Death,

Since from my experience 48% seems to be the sweet spot for brake balance, try 48% with 123 or 122 brake pressure, this roughly equals 47% at 125 in terms of front brake pressure but will give you better turn in while braking.
