Mysterious red flare on Horizon 4 demo

!(http://)After cruising around the horizon 4 map in my cossie I stumbled across what looked like a smoke flare in the woods…
Once I arrived there, it is! A red smoke flare just smoking away on the ground by the water?!
Anyone have any clue to what this is and the reason for it being there? Surely there has got to be a reason for it being there!?

Yes, I’ve come across that. I assumed it was just a bonfire in the woods from someone brush cutting. Of course it may gain significance in the full game, or just be some decoration.

The flare seems to be from a race. The flare isn’t turned off for open world.
