I have hag playstation since the first one and played gran turismo religiously over the years but I have just bought my first Xbox and forza 5, I love the game and the graphics are amazing, I’m a die hard nurburgring racer on gran turismo and the lack of it on forza is hurting, but anyway has anyone any tuning tips for me as I’m struggling with them on ere so far?? Add me on my gamer tag as I’m racing online a lot, thanks. duggie55

and too bad the one isn’t backward compatible or i would suggest to get the older titles. fm5 is my least favorite. if you are impressed by fm5 you would be blown away by the rest…and they all have the ring.
The other Forza games have an inaccurate version of the ring. I don’t miss that version of the ring. Can’t wait to see the re-done ring, accurate laser scanned ring. Hopefully in a few months. Plus the other Forza games physics compared to FM5 is a joke, so I can’t even go back & play them. Oh and there is no way I’m going back the the MS wheel on 360 either. Thrustmaster got me spoiled on X1.
I play both and love both
Just wanted to say hi DUGGIE55 and welcome to Forza the best sim on console and welcome to the forum.
I’m a recent convert as well. While I was still on the fence about getting a PS4, an old friend of mine kept sending me his screenshots of FM5 and it eventually pushed me to go with the XBOX this time. Forza is awesome. The ability to paint was a big win for me. I am a little sad that I can’t use my Force GT wheel anymore though…
Like yourself, I ran the Nurburgring Nordschleife and GP courses on GT6 all the time. Up until last August, I used to live about an hour away from the Nurburgring and GT6 was a good way to practice the course and memorize the layout before I would go out on the real track. I think if the Forza team laser scans that track, it’ll blow GT’s version away.
did you have to take the woman along like they did on top gear? i laughed when she stomped jeremy. if stig suddenly starts needing a bra i think i’m gonna know whos under the helmet.
Welcome aboard! I’m a GT-to-Forza convert too. Forza 2 did it for me, back in 2007.
I used to also play GT4 and played 5 for a limited time, and thought nothing was ever going to beat it in terms of a console sim, but after a friend showed me Forza 3 I went out and bought a X360 that week. Neither of us will be playing GT again as Forza took us away from it. Possibly if GT6 would have been a proper PS4 game with no recycled content I may have got that instead, but it wasn’t and I’ll probably never load up a GT game again.
I’ve tried both and ive enjoyed both, gt2 was my personal favorite way back when it’s title music was epic. (Iirc) it’s a fine example of competition encouraging creativity, and design and we as a consumer benefit.
My favorite GT is still GT3. I thought GT5 was pretty bad, and I never even tried GT6.
