My first rage Quit of Forza 6

So last night I started Modern Grand Prix on the 2nd volume of the ultimate series and the race in question was the first 2 lap race around the Nurburgring. I drive with assists apart for steering which I set on normal and no rewind or driving line.

Anyway I have drivatars on Average and within a minute of the race I’d been rammed down to 18th place and 1st-4th were nowhere to be seen, after 1 lap I’d climbed to 5th yet still no sight of 3rd and 4th needless to say I had to restart before finishing.

I changed the drivatars down to inexperienced and nearly as bad rammed for the first 2 minutes of play only to get away to 3rd place after that before my Lotus decided to spin out on a perfectly straight bit of road in which time I was demoted to 11th place, after trying to regain for over a lap…another restart.

Finally I changed the Drivatars to newbie racer and to my furious rage they rammed even harder before leaving me in a puff of smoke…very frustrating.

I put it down to tiredness but can’t help thinking Forza 6 is harder than 5 as I had absolutely no trouble doing the races involving the Lotus e23 in Forza 5.

I will be trying again tonight on my normal settings and I will not be beaten by 23 other racers running exactly the same car as me who seem to be god like in their driving ability despite the fact their cars can’t be superior as they are the same…
Wish Me Luck.

Try highly skilled or higher avatars, I really think you will see a positive difference and you will be able to enjoy the races. You won’t get rammed as much, and sometimes they even move out of the way if it seems like you are going to hit them.

I find this to be true. The “easier” drivatar difficulties seem to result in more reckless drivatars that will just try to ram you off the line and at the corners. Settings like Highly Skilled results in them trying to take racing lines and not ram you.

Even on unbeatable they still brake check mid corner and are unable to get through the first lap of almost any track cleanly.

That’s true, I just drive around them, though it’s not the ideal path as far as racing line

I believe the higher yous the drivatar level, the less they ram you and the more skillfully they’ll drive. You might want to check ‘limit drivatar aggression’, but that’s taking all the chocolate out of the cake right?

I increased the difficulty and turned off the aggressiveness and the avatars got MUCH better.

Yeah, to be more “lifelike” the lower difficulties drive pretty terribly.

In older Forzas the lower difficulty AI drove just like the professionals, but just reduced speed. The Drivatars are more “realistic” in that they drive badly, rather than ultra-conservatively. This sounds good on paper, but in practice it makes the lower difficulties just as hard as the higher difficulties because you can’t possibly race clean with everyone slamming you in the turns and brake checking you mid-straight.

Rather than change your drivatar skill, try using different mods to help you catch the leaders.

This.

I had problems with this same race (except it was LMP1s, not F1), and I could never get a good start. Luckily, I had a spare “Specter” mod lying around…

I’d imagine improved grid position mods would help a bit as well.

LOL, I … well maybe not rage quit, but I gave up last night on Road Atlanta, after this stupid red Merc just stayed on my tail the entire race no matter what I did. And whenever I had a rare chance to catch up, there would be 3-4 other extremely fast cars right up on me.

This was right after the Nurb GP race in the rain, which took me an hour to beat and left me sweating around the neck.

I may have to turn the drivatar level down one notch just for that race when I return tonight. I agree that they are less derpy at the higher levels, but with the wrong car, and tune, some of the cars are just technically going to be better.

The worse feelinvg is when you manage 4 laps up front and make that idiotic mistake with no one around, and vroom vroom everyone sails past

Sounds like my racing career

Increase the difficulty, do the limit aggression thing, much better racing.

Yep, i didn’t like the idea of the mods, but when you have no choice but to achieve 3rd place or higher, I’d just use one rather than frustrate myself.

There is one mod I won that ghosts all the AI for the first part of the race. I am saving that for the next rainly day

I play usually with ‘above average’ drivartar with other settings unchanged. Normally the 1st and 2nd laps I’m behind around 3-4th place. Then at certain sharp turns at later laps, I often able to overtake them at corners using drivartars as my brake

LOL,

I have been trying really hard to avoid doing that. I don’t want to start any bad habits, but in the rain… YES it’s on boys. Although sometimes you can put yourself in a worse position by doing that, if you put yourself at a sharp angle on a tight turn.

well something in the patch must’ve helped as I turned up the drivatar settings as suggested and after 1 restart I used some mods to move up the grid and managed to come 2nd so finally able to progress.

I have to try the Drivatar settings then. Personally I think it is harder to catch up with the first three drivers compared to FM5, I even choose a lower difficulty. :s
