When in a lobby in the status column I’ve noticed an icon that sort of looks like the CBS eye instead of a steering wheel. What does it mean?
Means that person is ‘viewing’ the race, but not driving in it.

The Steering wheel means a player is racing.
The checkered flag means they’re participating in the race and have finished.
The “CBS Eye” means that player is in spectator mode.

What is the star icon? Noticed it today first time. Is it new?
That means the lobbies are broken, and completely unplayable at the moment.
In a private lobby, it would means he/shes the host.
