Multiplayer: I Don't really care if you wreck me! So what.

Here’s the thing…I get XP for the race even if I finish LAST, and my car levels up even if I finish LAST, and my personal goal for FM5 is to finish the career mode of the game (eventually, after the DATA LOSS issue is solved…not finishing career mode until that’s solved) and have all of the cars in my garage including all of the DLC and promo cars. My son is 12 cars away from having the full garage of EVERY car in the game, including the rare FM Audi R8 promo car (thanks to a fellow board member for that!).

So, when I’m online, wreck me. I don’t care. I’ll do my best to take first, but frankly I’m happy as long as I place and get the medals (for the achievements). Today, I got the “Lead Dog” achievement finally, without really trying. Woot!

Chill out, folks. It’s a game. Let’s play. Personally I like hearing the comments on some of my personal liveries from other drivers. Occasionally I’ll even create one just for another gamer if they ask.

So…drive. And be happy.

I think the real problem here is that you get that much XP, and you’re leveling up for finishing last…

You can do your best to finish first, but if you’re being taken out the whole time, well… Then your best isn’t good enough, and there is nothing you can do about it. It’s no wonder people just wreck others if you still get that much XP for finishing last, what the incentive for finishing first then?..

i agree… i could care less bout my level… The level system is pointless… im only 3xx and im beating people with 1000+level every day lol

I too couldn’t care less about the leveling system or medals/trophies. I play this game to race and win. So please keep the racing clean, I’ll do my best to keep reporting wreckers. In the words of the great Ayrton Senna “second place is the first looser”.

I don’t like wreckers. It’s a cheap way to win. The biggest problem I have is the game doesn’t even reward you for winning. So, it’s like you are running after the carrot on a stick, and when you figure out how to get it, it’s just a plastic decoration.

I value my free time. When I spend it playing forza and running some some lobbies getting crashed makes it a waste.

And this folks is what’s wrong with the online racing community. The whole “I don’t care I still get XP” is such a crock of crap. Race to win or don’t race at all.

Why are you so concerned about it? He paid for the game and he’s entitled to play it any way he wants.

Interesting responses. Maybe I should have clarified my meaning and intent.

I RACE TO WIN. I place for a “medal” (gold, silver, bronze) about 90% of the time. When I don’t it’s because of being wrecked or, because of a rare screwup of my own, which happens (to all of YOU also).

That said, IF I GET WRECKED, I don’t spew curse words through the microphone so children can add to their vocabulary. I don’t get more angry for the wreck than I would if I found out my truck was stolen. I don’t send threatening messages to other gamers because they bumped me. I could go on and on.

I simply say “oh, well” and move on to the next race. If it gets out of hand (such as a team of people or an individual who are OBVIOUSLY trying to cause mayhem on the track and affect the outcome), then yes I will report them. But even then - report, and it’s over. Next race.

So I repeat myself, again. Drive - and be happy.

Nobody is saying to spew curse words through the microphone if you get wrecked. But from your original post it seemed like you were saying “no big deal I still get XP”. Almost verged on the side of condoning people wrecking others because hey, we all get XP anyways, right?

Meh, so I guess since I like to play drunk I shouldn’t play online(Glad not to yet). Cause sometimes, you just “forget” to brake good enough and bump someone. Only time I play games is when Im relaxing, getting hammered with friends. So I’m sure I’d get reported, or my friends, or whoever Is playing on my Xbox.

If you slam into me prepare for a spew of rage and cursing. This is why Forza needs rallying. If you wreck its your fault. Not some level 2 in a muscle car who thinks more horsepower equals better car, and can’t take corners for anything.

Retaliation is just as bad as being the dirty racer. Sometimes accidents happen and then all hell brakes loose for some reason. If you keep getting hit by somebody just report/block them and move on to a new lobby.

No need to keep slamming your head into a door

As long as its good clean racing I don’t care were I finish because I know I earned it. But I do not enjoy being hit from behind when I’m breaking for a corner. Pay attention to what’s in front of you people! If your faster than me I will gladly give you room to get around me.

Yeah people try to follow my elise into corners and brake at the same time as me. That’s not going to work so all it does is cause a pile up with my little lotus at the bottom.
