Hello,
I’m trying to set good laps on the monthly rivals but I see other ghost cars running with the spoiler down and the road mode on (I think it’s that one).
But when I try to do it it doesn’t work, the icon remains grey and I cannot “switch” mode.
Is it me being dumb, is there a particular way to do it?

The race mode cannot be changed during the rivals event. The ghosts your perceiving to have altered modes is merely a graphical bug or just the mode the ghost seems to use by default. Don’t worry no one is using a different mode to get ahead. The only cheaters are the numerous ones on the leaderboards using Automatic trans.
I hold 3rd position globally, the “legit” time plateau is around 55.3. Anything else is virtually not possible

I guess I’ll play it casually, I’m on the 57.0 after a couple tries, just wanted to know if those 30-40" times were real or not, but I guess it’s not worth trying then

I recently bought an elite series 2 (just the best thing I’ve ever tried) but I wouldn’t say it’s the only way to drive nicely, the normal xbox one/seires X controller is more than enough.
I play without any assistance (no brake/traction help) so it’s a bit hard to do those corners nicely.
I’d also wonder whether there’s a ranking based on assistances enabled :o
Good, I used it for H4 but it was a bit overkill, the game is rather easy. So H5 I play on a normal one and Elite 2 is for games like rFactor 2.
Because KB looks a bit OP I wanted to check what do you use. This time is awesome.

I’m sure this was stated with consideration of the many people with varying and diverse abilities in mind, and there’s an unspoken ‘obviously not including people who may have different accessibility requirements’. Right? Since they have as much right to be on the top tier of leaderboards as anyone else legitimately playing to the best of their abilities.
Not directed at anyone in particular. Just appears to be something many more people need to be aware of, given there’s very little mention of this factor in gaming forums.

Makes 2 of us. I drove that car and saw the little icon to the left of the Speedometer and was thinking “what is that there for…it doesn’t do anything?”…my eye kept getting drawn to it like it was hypnotising me lol

Well, to be “realistic” I think that for this specific challenge the Manual without Clutch would be not only meta but the right thing to do.
I guess an hypercar like that AMG won’t have a clutch pedal anyway :'D
