Monthly Rivals Events too hard?

Does anyone else feel like T10 is making challenges that exclude virtually 90% of the people who play their game? The Mechberg challenge was a very difficult challenge, with the dev putting down a what, 2:01? That’s a very tough time to beat. I was stuck at around 2:09 for probably 30 minutes or more. I don’t want to sound like one of these coaches who give everyone a trophy even if they lose. But would it be too much to ask to be included? I understand wanting tough times posted to drive the competition and bring out the real speed demons in the community, but why can’t us average drivers be rewarded with a lesser prize.

For example, the Mechberg challenge could have offered a Gold version of the Mechberg car for those who beat his time, and a silver verison of those who were 2 seconds away, and a bronze version for those who where 5 seconds away. All three of these times would have been difficult, not everyone would have accomplished these lap times, but a much larger percent of the community would see some reward for their time.

And now look at the Digitial Stig’s Lap times on Bathurst with that #10 Holden,(2:08). Professional race car drivers were floating around 2:08 and now T10 expects their online community to have the same skill and expertise these professionals have, minus the 10+ years of experience most pros have?

I love this game, and I love the competition. I’ve been playing Forza for years but just in the last couple months have I gotten really competitive. But this trend of catering to and rewarding the elite group of racers seems to be… dangerous for T10. This is why people wander to the arcady NFS titles, or go back to COD.

The bottom line is, I feel like T10 should make a better attempt at involving and rewarding a wider portion of their audience, while still rewarding the amazing drivers who will smash this 2:08 lap time. I believe I offered a reasonable suggestion.

You are already discussing this in the Stig’s Digital Cousin Challenge thread, which is a perfectly appropriate place for it.

No need to start a new thread.
