Are the mods of this forum mods from Forza or just of this forum only? Do these mods have any ties to the actual company that is Forza or Turn10? I only ask to try and gauge the accuracy of some of the data provided in the responses from these mods. Seems like some of the info is prone to being early-release info so it just leads me to wonder how accurate the info is and what the source of the info being provided is. Thanks.

The mods you see here on the forums, myself and the others, are forum moderators. We do have somewhat regular contact/communication with Turn 10 on a daily basis and we do get full copies of the games in advance, hence our knowing what we know and feel comfortable sharing.

Users may see FM.net moderators in the /forza channels for Twitch and Mixer, but the moderators in other forum communities are separate. You can count on our accuracy due to our experience, with two caveats:

Moderators are not Turn 10 employees, we’re part of the community. Official Turn 10 statements are the official word, and it’s best practice for everyone to provide links to those statements whenever relevant. Everyone should resist the temptation to make statements of certainty when they can’t be supported by source evidence, particularly about Turn 10’s internal business, capabilities, and personal motivations.

In other cases we’re providing answers based on what is visible in the game to everyone. Moderators are mostly human and can on rare occasion drop a transcription error or struggle with vague official statements. In these cases, as with potential bugs that users find in the game, it’s best to just ask “Is that correct?” and provide any evidence you have of what you’re seeing vs. what someone else has posted. Be nice, and we can fix any inaccuracies and move on. Be nasty, and we butt heads unnecessarily. Hiero’s Posting Guidelines thread is a must read.
