I have worn out my original disc 1 and switched to the FM4 Essentials game disc that came with my new 360. I recently noticed that I no longer have 2001-2005 cars from disc 2. I’ve tried redownloading everything again and that is the only one not in my download history list. I have all the other ones… I’ve been to my Microsoft account and it shows that I have everything BUT that portion of disc 2… how is that possible? How can I recover the missing content without having to redownload?
When mine went bad I had used an essentials disc as well. None of the disc 2 content would work because it’s a base game with no extra content. The system sees that you are using a different disc. The only way to use the content from disc 2 is by replacing your original disc. Microsoft has a program set up where you can exchange a game for about $20. When I did it I was sent a brand new game. You can find a link here. You may want to check with a local store to see if they have one cheaper.
also note when your installing add on content from a disk it will not show in your download history which is setup for Purchases (free or through a code will also show but not a disk)
But yes your system reads the essentials version differently then a regular version. Why exactly? I don’t have the answer to that luckily you can find FM4 pretty cheap nowadays so you should be able to get a replacement disk without spending too much from your local store.
