MERC SEASON OPENER MAY 7th AND 9TH ONLY 8 spaces left PM me now!

Thank you and welcome to the official thread of Modern Endurance Racing Championship, or MERC. This is endurance 1 (one hour) racing with a 1, 15 minute qualifiers that is on race day. Qualifying is in ghost mode, so collisions do not happen, and drafting is not a factor. So of course, fastest clean lap gets pole position. Race is in full simulation mode.

Damage will be on, to force you to remember, you hit someone, you are taking the damage. Points are the same as F1 from 2013 (Latest News). There will be two championships, 1- Driver Championship, and the 2nd- Team Championship.

Also when the marketplace finally launches, we will require a buy in into this series, now the league is racing for in game currency! 100% of all buy ins go for the “winnings purse.” Depending on how many drivers register, and how big the “winning purse” total is, will determine how many drivers will be paid out at the end of the season. If this season starts before the marketplace launch, than the buy in will be for the following season.

With the DVR ability that EVERYONE has, we can now eliminate guessing with rough driving, over blocking, and blatantly hitting someone off track, we can now record the incident and ban that member, dock them points in the championship, or just dock them overall time depending on the case. We will have a review board for such cases, all of them drivers. Paint, assists, are all up to you.

We will have the ability to record online races. Every race will be recorded and highlights will be featured on our YouTube page, (JLaw's Funhouse - YouTube) and myself and a couple other drivers will also be broadcasting on Twitch, (Twitch) so you can come watch this fast paced action first hand! This isn’t some spec racing either, how is a total of 15 CARS to pick from and build! None of the cars selected are DLC. All cars are upgraded and race ready! ALL BUILDS STAY AS THEY ARE, TUNES ARE UP TO THE DRIVER. There will be a total of 15 races, with the top 16 drivers invited to the final RACE OF THE CHAMPIONS to determine the champion of the series!

Of these 15 cars, you pick your car you wish to run for the season.

Another new feature is the introduction of TEAMS! You and your friend can team up, and help each other testing and tune cars, team mates MUST have a similar paint scheme, however the cars do not. So bring a friend, and help each other tune, test, practice, and come race day, you will be the team to beat!

Again, this is clean racing, this is fun and fair, so remember, we are all here to see who can be the best, so let the best driver win…

Pm message me on Xbox, follow me and I will add you to the meeting, TBD. THE OFFICIAL DRIVER MEETING WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER DATE. ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS DISCUSSED WILL BE POSTED ON HERE. BY SIGNING UP FOR THIS LEAGUE, YOU ARE STATING YOU HAVE READ THE RULES AND REGULATIONS, AGREE TO THEM, AND UNDERSTAND IF YOU VIOLATE ANY OF THEM, THERE WILL BE DISCEPLANARY ACTION.

Per our first meeting, the rules, regulations, board of directors, and everything that needed to be clarified was discussed and agreed upon and as is follows, and will be updated as needed:

Driving rules:

  1. Door banging will happen, deal with it. With that being said, forcibly moving someone out of your way is not allowed, period. You spin someone out, apologize, wait for them to go ahead of you into the pits, record what happened on both sides, and report it. Myself and the board will review, and by majority will decide a punishment. Punishments will be listed later.

  2. It is the person doing the passing to ensure no hard contact. The driver being passed is allowed to make 1 (one) block move to maintain position. The driver being passed can block but only to the point where there is still 1 (one) car width away to ensure you DO NOT run ANYONE off track. Banging doors will happen first and foremost, but DO NOT hit someone off the track. Accidents will happen, and so will penalties. Races will be reviewed before final judgment comes down. Again this is not discouraging hard racing, but in fact ensuring clean and fair racing. Formula one established this rule among others. I am carrying over a few rules from Formula one. If you are unsure, search YouTube or the formula one website.

  3. You are responsible for your car, and what happens because of which. Maintain control of your car. Slightly drifting is one thing and is fine, when you slide off track and take two cars out because you were over driving the car, that is punishable. Drive to your cars capabilities, you over drive the car, thats when accidents happen, so again, MAINTAIN CONTROL.

  4. Communications: we will all be in the party, we all have a mic of some sort, so if you are going to pass, and time is allowed, (some passes happen quickly), than announce it to the driver. Communication will help avoid many accidents, maintaining control is the other key, now we can run a safer and run hard still without worrying about being punted because you passed them.

  5. Lapped traffic: you are being lapped, you give the race line to the lead cars, period.

  6. Camera views, driving assists, and auto transmission, are all up to you. Drive how you are comfortable. Same with your setup. BUILD STAYS AS IS, SETUP IS UP TO YOU.

  7. DVR capabilities, we all have it, something happens, record it, and bring it up to the board. We also can record the race in its entirety and most drivers save the races. We can review everything in full and see what happened. THIS IS A NOTICE TO ANYONE LOOKING TO TROLL, DONT BOTHER, YOU WONT LAST LONG HERE.

  8. Disciplinary actions: punishments are judged on a case by case basis. The Board of Directors, 6 members, will review any and all infractions, and come to a conclusion on a fitting action. Punishment will fit the crime. With that being said, everyone still races extremely hard and fast, and if you can’t handle these cars, than you may want to review our other league with Honda S2000 spec series called “GTFOR” and build up these skills. We do race with sim damage, and accidents will happen, this is racing after all. Accidents are accidents, trolling is trolling. We can spot the difference quickly.

  9. Once the marketplace opens up, there will be a “buy in” to race in the series, at a later date for a later series. In game currency will be the buy in and pay out. Purse goes for the top 3,5, or 7 drivers / teams, depending on how many drivers sign up.

  10. Race points are same as F1 as linked above. Qualifying will also happen, one 15 minute session with everyone in the lobby as ghosts, than when we race we get in order, do an opening “parade lap” to warm everything up, line back up on the starting grid in order, and there will be a 10-15 second countdown to the green flag, and its off to the races.

  11. Racing season, 15 races, one hour in length. Qualifying, 15 minutes. Over all time per race is around 1.5 - 2 hours long.

  12. Recruiting. You like how we race, you have friends interested in the same thing, bring them with. We have plenty of room. Set them up with the rules, and the cars, and forward them to me. We will go over any questions, and go from there.

  13. Bottom line, we are all tired of b.s. online and want to really race, so if this sounds like you, hit us up. We are currently at 16 drivers registered so far, and looking for more drivers for both daytime and night. Also, discussing Saturday afternoon races, if we can enlist enough people for it than we will have it, interested pm me on Xbox.

  14. Paint, your cars, use our number plate, download from my creator page, and leave your mark with a paint job/ sponsors. Sometimes its easier saying the color or number of a car than some of your gamertags.

  15. Will add any rules when needed. Bottom line, we all want to race hard and fair, so these rules are final, and for the benefit of all drivers. Only to ensure fair racing, period. If you both go all Kyle Busch on each other than its both of your faults and penalties will come down. Again, we are all here for the same reason, so let this race group be what we were all want it to be.

  16. Qualifying- day of race, we will all spawn onto the track, with collisions off (so no one will be in anyone way). A 5 second run off time between drivers, and 15 minutes to get your best lap in. Clean laps count, dirty will be in the back of the pack. Again, only to ensure fair times, and to ensure you are not cutting corners.

Cars and builds: 15 cars to choose from, each one is different from the next, so find the best fit for you!!!

ALL CARS HAVE THE FOLLOWING UPGRADES (unless otherwise specified): RACE TIRE COMPOUND, STOCK RIM SIZES, FORZA AERODYNAMICS PACKAGE, EVERYTHING IN DRIVELINE (clutch, transmission, drive shaft, and rear end) ALL RACE, AND EVERYTHING IN PLATFORM AND HANDLING (brakes, shocks, anti-roll bars front and rear, chassis reinforcement and roll cage) ALL RACE. RIMS ARE THE LIGHTEST WEIGHT RIM OF YOUR CHOICE. MUST BE LIGHTEST WEIGHT RIMS, IF YOUR PI NUMBER IS OFF, ITS AN ILLEGAL CAR, SO REMEMBER, MUST BE LIGHTEST WEIGHT! There is a wide variety of light rims, so take your pic. TIRE WIDTH SIZE VARIES BY CAR AND IS LISTED WITH EACH CAR.

For the individual cars listed, if its not on the list, it doesn’t go on, other than the parts listed above.

PLEASE READ THE FULL PARAGRAPH ABOVE FOR ALL PARTS FOR YOUR CAR THANK YOU

ALL OF THE “UNK” means they haven’t announced, haven’t found a team mate, picked a car or even a car number. This list will be updated as info comes in.

Me (Ta Caiman) and SPAM DANGLERS are going to be a team in this new series  I’m going to be number 22 and SPAM is number 16. We haven’t decide on car or cars yet so I will edit this once we have

Spam danglers & Ta Caiman for a team we will let you know what cars we have chosen once we decided

[Mod Edit - Stop spamming - D]

Im sorry what? I posted in 3 threads, and created one for a new league. What’s the issue?

Great guys! Don’t forget, since you are a team, you can make your own team name/ logo, and plaster that on your car!

I’m a rookie looking to get better. I would like to learn by racing against better racers. I’m currently in a mixed league with forzamotorsport.org.uk, as well as a TC2 series with ETCC. I realize I have a lot to learn. I will make every effort to not hinder other racers. I really don’t want to wade through the public lobbies, as they seem counterproductive. Thanks.

I keep reading posts about how awful the racing can be if your not with the right group. eg. wrecks, poor racing etiquette. I’m just trying to avoid further frustration (rookie). Thanks.
[/quote]

Oh gotcha. Actually the honda s2000 is a beginner league, only 303 hp and a pretty light car, but it forces you to learn traffic, proper drive line, and everyone in my leagues I have raced with and can vouche for. Everyone here is tired of the b.s. online so that’s why we race together.

Also if you want some help with driving style, and tips I can help you out. Im online now through the afternoon so hit me up. We race this afternoon if you are interested

Thanks for the info. I had to work late yesterday. I’ll send you a FR, the next time I’m on “the box”.

Yeah bud, anytime. Thats what this group is all about bud. Next week when I get back, we will hop in the honda s2000 and I can give you a one on one session, give you some pointers. Anyone can drive, the ones who figure out the ins and outs on the track are the ones who get to the top of the leaderboards. Cars and builds will only get you so far, technique is more important than anything. Glad to have you on board bud!

Sure bud, that’s what this group is about. Glad to have you on board, and next week when I am back online I will add you and we can catch up. If you would like I can help you with some driver tips. The people I helped out before all took 12+ seconds off their lap times. Build the GTFOR league Honda S2000 (that’s the car I teach with) and we can do a one on one session if you would like.

Thanks for the info. I had to work late yesterday. I’ll send you a FR, the next time I’m on “the box”.

I’m going jump to the GTFOR thread. I’ll start testing/practicing the S2000, and touch base with you next week. I would like to reserve #328 if possible. Thanks.

I just want to know JLaw, even tho me and SPAM are a team, how many can be in it or is it just a two man thing? Also, me and Leon noticed that you are missing out race air filter under the viper gts acr build, without it you can’t get the 613hp, a700 settings

Ill sign up as well. I’ll be using the BMW m coupe
