Mechberg's Show & Tell

I think your main choices probably fall to; Dodge Vipers (GTS or SRT10 ACR), Saleen S7, Audi R8 (choice) or the Maserati MC12. I’ll give you what would be my choice.

Car: 2004 Maserati MC12
Reasoning: First off, Maserati makes incredible cars, and I admit to the car-crush I have on them. Secondly, the MC12 is going to help you get over your ex, it has the right amount of speed (that you’ve been missing) while giving you the handling, launch and acceleration that you’ll need to be competitive in A class. It is a long car so it isn’t going to be the fastest on the hairpin turns or at the top of Bathurst (likely), but there are a number of other benefits that you’ll fall in love with, namely you’ll never get sick of the sound of that engine and the driveability of the car is superb. Not to mention, the car looks amazing, like it should be racing on a track and be illegal on the street.

The 2013 Viper GTS will be an excellent choice here.

As an LE car it’s already built to 700; or as a market car it’s got a good amount of build headroom at 657. (You don’t want TOO much build headroom, as then you risk overbuilding for the basic frame.)
And it’s very well supported by the community: with 11 recommended tunes and 75 search-result tunes rated 4 stars or better, you can explore other racers’ driving creativity for weeks.
I’ll admit to a soft spot for “made in America” influencing my pick… but sometimes a little home cooking is a good thing.

Class: A
Manufacturer: Dodge
Vehicle: 2008 Viper SRT10 ACR
Drive: RWD

This car will probably be the best car you have driven to date in A class. Not only does it have power and speed but tons of grip to get you around the corners quickly. I have been using tunes by Raceboy77 as he has a grip tune and a power tune. I have many PB’s from these tunes and it’s made me successful in lobbies. Try it and I guaranteed you will not be disappointed. Plus, it’s very photogenic!

Nice mate, I’ll give the viper a shot.

The RUF CTR Yellowbird… It is very light at just 2,580lbs with 469hp and 410ftlb of torques. A great power to weight ratio. Also with the engine being in back is optimal for handling on the track but I admit a bit unforgiving if you get the apex entry or exit speed wrong. I don’t know if I’m aloud to say this but Porsche has a great racing history and make one of the best handling/track cars already and Ruf takes a Porsche and makes it well, better you can say. The 911 chassis has proven to be one of the best in the world of racing. I love all of the RUF’s and in my opinion all are some of the top “stock” A class cars in Forza 5 and real life for that matter. I love other cars too, just my preference and opinion. Thanks for reading.

Audi R8 V10 Plus near the top of the A class, AWD, looks great and great performance stock.

Wow, so many good choices here. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

In the end, I got lazy and decided to stick with a car that I had been testing early last week (and thus had a head start with affinity) – the 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition.

I love the look of this car and it’s got power for days. That said, it’s not the most nimble of cars and I’ve been trying a few different tuning settings to dial it in just right.

Sounds like we’ve got a lot of LFA and Viper fans here, so one of those will likely be next on my “must-drive” list.

Godzilla Attacks Bathurst

You should definatly try out the 2013 Mazda MX5. Stock it’s somewhat slow but has great handling, and tuned to A class it handles like a dream, Good traction on the rear with the racing tires and a little engine that could! I got my first maxed affinity in the MX5, and i still enjoy it even tho i got tons of faster cars waiting in my FM5 garage.

The fun thing about the MX5 is, being that light allready makes it easier to tune it to your likings, want more power, put in more power. Do you enjoy traction over power, no problem because of its weight. And if thats not enough, the looks should do it for you.

Here’s mine with a livery based upon the Mazda MX5 open Championship series (personal interpretation of how the mazda could look, based on the standard livery layout)

funny someone recommended the mclaren and now its the bounty hunter challenge.
