McLaren F1 stability at 170+MPH fix?--No Wings, just tuning possible?

Hi. The F1 handles poorly at high speed (170+ mph)–the slightest touch can cause loss of stability. Is there a way to fix this stability problem at high speeds without adding a wing at front or rear, just using tuning? Autovista shows that there is a rear wing that activates automatically, and I don’t want to ruin the car’s look.
Thanks,
Anthony

the rear wing that is on the car is just for looks it does not provide and benefits to handling like it does in real life … adding forza aero is an option if you want function if you are going for looks keep it below 120 on race tires and max the tire width

Surly you guys mean to say two-hundred-seventy or are you, OP really having issues above one-hundred-seventy?

I put one of these together once, without the Forza aero that’d hit the 270ish limit - just to record the stat; as I recall, yea, was pretty sensitive to any input at that speed, but not completely undrivable if you just kept your foot (finger) out of it a bit. I’ll post it, if I don’t have to recreate it. Heck, I may have to revisit this even if I do have to recreate it!

Oh and the articulating thing on the rear is an airbrake, only activated when braking. As reaper said though, I doubt it actually does anything in game.

Also, if you’re really concerned with how it looks in real life - there was a version of the F1, the F1 LM with a wing not too unlike the Forza wing <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_F1_LM> good gear box to use there, will get you to 270 ;^)

Raise the caster - and soften the suspension, could also lower bump settings. That should make it track better on the straights… will you be able to take a corner with those settings… i don’t have a clue, but off the top of my head without actually messing with the setting doing those things should help it go straight better.

Ok so, I had an R3 800, no aero, stock appearance setup that’ll hit ~268 or …9 - while maybe not the most refined I’d ever done, I posted it… if you want to give it a whirl for comparisons sake ;^)
