In Japan, this car was known as the Mercedes-Benz of Hiroshima, and I like the fact that it has the same engine as the RX-7 with this look。

The fifth-and-final-generation Luce is offered with a choice of a 4-door sedan and a 4-door hardtop. Unlike the previous fourth-generation model, it was powered by a V6 engine instead of a rotary engine. It features an E-type multi-link rear suspension for better stability. It was coined as “Hiroshima’s Benz”.

Kia Potentia 1997 facelift

Based on the final-generation Mazda Luce, the Potentia served as Kia’s flagship sedan before the Sentia-based Enterprise. Early models are powered by a choice of three petrol engines (2.0L, 2.2L, and a 200PS 3.0L) and a 2.2L LPG engine. Most variants are mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed AT but the 3.0L variant is mated only with an automatic.

The Potentia received a major facelift in 1997 under the “New Potentia” banner and for the facelifted model, the manual gearbox, the 2.2L LPG variant, and the 3.0L petrol variant were dropped while the lesser 2.0L LPG and 2.5L petrol variants joined the lineup in addition to the 2.0L petrol. All variants are mated to a 4-speed automatic.

Production ended in 2002.
