INTRODUCTION
Welcome To MatsuriHub! This is a thread for setting up and participating in open tandem lobbies with one distinct goal in mind; to allow drifters to have fun in a non-competitive environment. ONI members will be hosting these events, as will be highlighted in each specific event’s details.
CAR RESTRICTIONS
As long as it’s RWD, we don’t mind what you bring. If you’d like to really get into the Matsuri spirit of things, though, we’d encourage you to drive sub-500hp Japanese cars. This is not a rule, so it is totally down to what you feel comfortable driving.
RULES/ETIQUETTE
While there are no real rules, we do ask that you all listen carefully to the event coordinators to ensure a smoothly-run event. Common rules for the lobbies may include things such as waiting for everyone to finish the section before driving to the start, and in busier lobbies, separating tandems into groups of 2 or 4. Above all, please have respect for other drivers in the lobby. If you feel that another driver is being disrespectful to you, do not hesitate to message the event coordinators, but please do not retaliate. We will do our best to solve issues quickly. Disrespectful and/or unsportsmanlike conduct towards other drivers and/or failure to comply with coordinators may result in ejection from the lobby.
SIGNING UP
Signing up for all future events will be done in separate registration threads, the links of which can be found below in the “next event” section. While it isn’t mandatory to sign up, it does make it easier on us if we know who to invite. So, if you are interested, we ask you to provide us with:
Gamertag:
Team (if any):
This info will allow us to add you to a “registered driver list”, which means we will be able to ensure you a spot in the lobby. The full registered driver list will be included on the appropriate sign-up page.
In addition to this, if a driver participates in three separate MatsuriHub events, they will automatically be added to a “regular driver list”. This will mean that they no longer have to register each time to ensure a slot, as they will already be shortlisted into the next meeting. ONI will be looking closely at the more regular drivers and, if they seem like a good fit, may offer prospecting to drivers who are fun to be around, have a good attitude, and have some strong style at the wheel.
Unfortunately all reservations are subject to change if a driver doesn’t show up by the time session 1 starts. As mentioned before, registration is not mandatory, but it is the only way to guarantee yourself a slot. To keep communications between drivers stable, we are now limiting the register to 16 people. These 16 people will be invited to a party chat during the event. While other drivers are welcome to join in on top of that, please be aware that we will not be able to communicate with you effectively, so please read up on the event operating guidelines beforehand, and keep your eyes open. Watch what everyone else is doing and you should be fine.
