Two years ago, when I played FH1 online (free roam), I’d meet up with a couple of my buddies and we’d open a lobby. When people joined, if they had a mic, I’d tell them how the lobby worked: the track layout was based on Finley Dam. Virtually the entire road content of that section of the map. The starting and finish line was the speed trap on the bridge. The race went on from there, I won’t go over details.
Now, here I am on FH2 (Xbox One) and am scouting for potential candidates for “makeshift” tracks. Anyone else ever do this kind of thing? Specifically, I’m looking for potential track areas that focus on a single type of race and/or turf: rally (multiple terrain types that can vary with road progression), what I call “track” (pure asphalt and quick curves), etc.
Nobody? I find this hard to believe when everyone in Horizon 1 lobbies named “Finley Dam Track” (or such) knew what the track mapout was. I’m still in need of a blueprint.
There are many areas in Horizon 2 that are bafflingly never utilized in any of the stock tracks. I’ve been trying to create some worthy routes.
BONUS STAGE: PERSONAL TOUGE ROUTE: Waves of Kanagawa Map & Video
A proper road for driving hard. A superb outing for adjusting your suspension. A fitting accompaniment to your favorite music in the rain… The final return section (marked in purple on my map image) uses some high-up Japanese-style mountain interstate roads that never appear in the main game.
Start at the green X. Downhill with some nice turns.
Move through the hilly forest road (“Initial D Section”). Feels like the famous show when it’s nighttime.
U-Turn at highway divider (yellow arrow), head back to start (purple arrows)
Take note of the final stretch as you return to the starting point. There’s a section of roads only used on the return route. (Marked “JAPAN” section on map)
It’s unfortunate that there is no custom track creator. The developers could have implemented a system where we simply place orange flares (checkpoints) to construct a custom course. Then we could share and download custom courses, in the same manner as sharing and downloading tunes and paintjobs. But the developers didn’t do that. Furthermore, the public custom lobbies from Horizon 1 have been deleted for Horizon 2. This is a betrayal of the player. We can no longer find a “drift” lobby, or find a “Dam Run” or Red Rock lobby. So that’s a big step backwards.
Nice routes. And it would be nice to have the ability to create custom race routes.
For the removed lobby function(s): yes, a big step backwards, indeed. How am I supposed to convince a group of kids to race on a made up track? A group of kids that just want to see how fast their Veyrons can get up to.
Even if they were to add lobbies: it would either be a huge patch or a complete rework of the game. In addition to no lobbies, no more sharing of cars within clubs. Who decides what features go into this game anymore? Horizon 1 was fine, great actually. How do you move backwards (that big of a step) with the next game in the series?
Hey guys, I used to do a lot of touge racing on fh1 so ive been looking to find some people to do it with on fh2 but to no avail… to many kids with veyrons as mentioned before. Definitely up for some racing and making friends if anyone wants to add me I’ll have to be shown the tracks though haha.
