Magnetic Walls and Track Edges

Over the last few weeks I have been noticing that I can get “attracted” to track walls and even track edges where there are no walls. It is very frustrating that you get "stuck"although there is no discernible touch, feedback, or sound that you made impact yet you ride along the wall or edge until a sharp turn occurs when you are launched off the other side to the opposite wall or track edge. I first noticed it on Prague but have seen it on a variety of other tracks with various cars. I have tried cars with different ride heights and tire widths to see if I am getting hung up but I don’t seem to find anything in common. Once “engaged” I have tried slowing down and applying full opposite wheel but it never seems to disengage unless you stop or reverse. It is a real killer when you are 20 laps in and have a large lead only to get “stuck” and hit by another car. Has anyone else had this experience?

Walls are sticky to prevent wall-riding (which utterly ruined any track with walls in FM5, where they weren’t sticky). You have to actually scrape along them for it to have an effect though, they’re not magnetic and will not affect you if you don’t touch them no matter how close you get, but if you do just graze one lightly it can ruin your day.

Kerbs are generally awful in Forza. There are a few you can run on realistically, but most will either spin you out like they’re made of Teflon should you so much as touch it with one wheel, or magically suck you onto the dirt, or bounce you up in the air as if they’re spring-loaded.

The solution is to not touch the walls, and only touch the kerbs you’re certain you can touch (and give the most lethal ones some extra respect). Once you have a mental map of the track limits that includes these danger areas you’ll be fine. I don’t really notice these irritations much nowadays. There are a few kerbs that are unpredictable where you can usually, but not always, put two wheels on them, and I may get caught out by one of those now and then, but it’s rare that I get wiped out by a “bad” kerb and I genuinely don’t remember the last time I got caught on a sticky wall.

I’ve noticed the grass on the nurbergring and le mans have a bad habit of sucking you in if your tires touch it sometimes…

Loki that is just physics. If you “touch” the grass you are going to get pulled in because there is less traction than pavement.
