Mad Catz Pro Wheel issues

Hey Guys,

I have a problem when using the Mad Catz wheel in Forza 6(was fine in the demo), the pedals oscillate between 30-90% for BOTH Accelerator and Brake, without even touching them.

I have updated the firmware of the wheel and done the ‘reset’ steps below:

Unplug the wheel from the Xbox (but ensure it still has power).
Press and hold these three buttons together – left d-pad, right-dpad and X
Plug the wheel back into the Xbox with these buttons held and then let go of them – the white LED above the Xbox button should be flashing
Now squeeze and release all of the paddles on the wheel and fully depress and let go of the pedals
Press both the view and menu buttons on the wheel (the two white ones!) to put the wheel back into normal mode

Which hasn’t fixed the issue…

Just wondering if anyone out there has this wheel and has/had this issue and was able to rectify it? I’ve been waiting 3 days for MadCatz support to get back to me. I have even tried twitter and facebook… They just don’t respond…

Cheers,

ShayneRarma

I’m also using the Mad Catz wheel and am having issues… although mine seem to be basic calibration errors as in the pedals response is all at the top of the pedal. Slightest touch of the brake and I lock up. I haven’t tried the reset since downloading FM6 but I’ll give it a go. The wheel has been updated and works well in Project Cars. It seemed to work ok in the FM6 demo too, although the feedback was a bit off.

Edit:

Just found this link, which may help with your issue. Worth a try at least

Xbox Racing Pro

Mine isn’t a calibration problem, something is up with the pedals firmware or something…

The brake and accelerator are ALWAYS on between 30-70% without even touching them. If I unplug them, its fine and I can use the paddles to accelerate and shift gears… This ONLY happened after the firmware update + Forza 6 full version. Forza 6 demo worked fine.

has the forza6 update solved your issue yet? i played with forza6 & mad catz wheel & didn’t notice any pedal issues, could be cause i m running the old firmware on the mad catz, your issue still present?

Hi Guys,
I m planning on getting this wheel for forza6, has the issue been solved? also does this wheel come off centered to the right by 10 degrees like most people complain about online?

Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and save your money or get something else. I’m on my second mad catz wheel and it still gives me nothing but problems no matter what game I play. I wouldn’t recommend this wheel to anyone.

Don’t let the reviews on their official site fool you either, they only cherry picked a few good reviews and won’t allow people to do any new ones to expose how craap the product really is. They have some shady practices that’s for sure. When I sent my first one away it took nearly 2 months (IIRC) to get it back before I got a refurbished one that ended up having all the same problems.

with mine, the centered position is where it is supposed to be, however, the problem I have is my xbox isn’t recognizing the wheel as a controller, it works great with Project Cars, but as if it where part of the main controller, so after a few minutes the screen dims and if I don’t move the stick/push a button on the controller, it will turn off and the game will show the error of no controller connected; with Forza 6 it won’t even work at all (besides the xbox button), I think this may be because I’m part of the preview program and have installed the New XBox One Experience dashboard.

You are right, this is a known problem with the NXOE,you will have to wait until a fix comes along!!

This isn’t a new problem. I had the same thing happen when they first came out and i was using them with forza 5. I went through 2 full wheels and 4 sets of pedals and finally said enough is enough and yelled until they refunded my money. If you are still within any type of warranty window I would contact them, explain the problem and get them to send you a set of pedals. After that I would wait a few days and then tell them it didn’t work and ask for a refund. If you aren’t in warranty you are probably SOL I am afraid. Like i said, this is a known issue and if it still happening with pedals being bought today then they clearly aren’t working on a fix.

I bought a logitech G920 and it will be here tomorrow. I can’t wait to finally start playing with a wheel again but if anyone is looking to buy that Mad Catz wheel I would stay away.

These guys still exist? Last time I bought something from them were a few PS2 controllers

yeah, they been in the gaming scene since a long time now.
