I joined a team adventure with a friend last night for the first time, and not knowing exactly what I was getting into I had all of my assists disabled which is how I normally play in single player. The adventure that we got dumped into was a hypercar series. I hadn’t driven any of the hypercars yet, so I randomly chose the Agera RS. On the first race I discovered that the Agera RS is basically undrivable with traction control disabled. Okay, I’ll go turn it on in the settings while everyone else finishes the race. Nope… can’t do that during a race. No biggie, I wasn’t going to win that race anyway, I’ll go turn it on during the post-race intermissions. NOPE! Can’t touch those settings during an adventure.
On top of that, I saw no obvious way to exit an adventure once it is started. So, I’m locked into a completely undrivable car for 5 events because I am forbidden from turning on TC. That is super frustrating.
Not only is it frustrating for me, but it must be frustrating for the people on my team who must assume that I’m either terrible (getting lapped on every event) or intentionally griefing.
Also, not knowing what type of car you’ll be driving ahead of time doesn’t give you any choice of how to set up your assists, since you have to prepare for the worst. I would imagine the same thing would apply to seasons. If I get dumped into a winter series, I imagine I might want to turn on TC or AB, but that wouldn’t be an option.
I really see no good reason to lock this during adventure. Sure, maybe during a single race so it can’t be abused for rewards, but at least let us change it during the intermission.
