Some of you really need to lighten up and remember that this is just a game and not real life. This is supposed to be a fun game that everyone should be able to enjoy without being messaged and harassed outside the game by another player.
I was messaged by someone a few days ago. All it said was “leave” so I asked the person leave what? and he/she responded with “quit Forza you suck”. I realized this message was sent several days earlier so by that time I wasn’t even sure what I did lol. So I just blocked him. I will admit I do kinda suck but that is because I do not have conventional game controls due to the fact I’m a quadriplegic. I use an eye tracker along with some other software to play games on my PC and while it works pretty well, sometimes it’s not as precise as a game pad and to some it looks like I’m not very skilled. So usually during a trial I will fall back behind my team and stay out of their way and I’ve done it like that since FH3 without complaints.
I guess the point of my post is this. Before anyone decides to message someone to tell them how much they suck just remember a person is on the receiving end of your rage message. You don’t know why they aren’t doing as well, either they are new to the game or they have a physical disability which possibly hinders precision driving.
Yes this is indeed a game played by millions of immature kids that have the ability to message anyone. You should see my chat log. I literally have thousands of messages from kids, some good but most bad. Like really bad. Like so bad I can’t repeat here lol
A couple of things here, one I think it’s genuinely brilliant that technology has moved on to the extent that someone with such severe physical limitations can play video games like this.
I’d report that person to XBL for communications, not just block them - so you’re a bigger man than me if you can just block and ignore such behaviour.
If someone is so much better than you at the game - they shouldn’t even be in the same race. What I mean by this is, if I’m playing MP - the only time I’ve messaged someone would be on something like forza motorsport - where I have messaged people after a close race to say - ‘great race’ or ‘close one - well done’. I don’t particularly take notice of someone who is just slower, doing their own race pace further down the field.
I know you’ve posted in the ‘trial’ thread and can see in a team event that having a bigger impact on ultimate race/tournament outcome. I still wouldn’t go out of my way to message someone in such a manner - but I don’t do a lot of competitive multiplayer, if that’s a common practice - it shouldn’t be.
When I first used Xbox Live many years ago I got some rude messages, I think it’s very common unfortunately. Since then I disabled messages and it solved that problem.
But where that one problem is seemingly solved, you have created a new problem for all your adoring fans that desperately seek to communicate with you.
I report the message. Simply because if i were to say the same i would be reported. I had one person call me some quite inventive names (full of expletives) because i knocked them into a corner. They had been ramming and pushing people outside of checkpoints all race. It was amusing to watch the leaderboard, which they were in number 1 spot (after their selfish racing behaviour got them there), and see them plummet to 8th whilst i went on to finish in 1st. I’m pretty sure Xbox actually sent me a message to confirm they had blocked that person from using chat
I’ve only gotten a rude message from someone once on Xbox, and looking over their profile, I didn’t see any games we had in common. I was playing STO at the time, and it didn’t look like they’d every played it. So I have no idea what that was about. I guess maybe they confused me with someone else. I reported and blocked them. But I also never bothered getting into Xbox until late in the 360 era, so I might have avoided the worst of it.
Just want to say that I’m quadriplegic too and agree 100%. I play with a modified control and the Xbox accessible controller. If you want to find me on Forza and play together or convoy or whatever, my username is the same as here.
I wouldn’t message someone even when they are being a jerk (which I have seen quite a bit recently in Eliminator). If someone seems less skilled than me, I will assume they might be new or have a valid reason for their driving. I know I’ve done some bad driving just because my dog jumped onto my lap in a game.
Nothing you can do to totally avoid the trolls/jerks these days.
I got a message like that when I got pushed out of a Checkpoint and came in last in a Trial. Not the first person I’ve blocked, though it’s usually weird random messages, spam, and unwanted friend requests for me. It’s like some of these people are unfamiliar with how grouping with randos works. Chances are pretty good you’ll end up in a team with someone who, for whatever reason, you don’t really want to play with. #dealwithit
