Just started the super trofeo league and my lambo is significantly slower on the straights, its like im standing still boys are breezing by me?
Im running manual without cluth, is this the problem? Ive im running tcs and abs off also
You’ll accelerate faster after every upshift and the benefit is quite noticeable for the majority of the cars in the game. If you ever raced in the lower class lobbies, the difference can be multiple seconds if the track is fairly large such as Silverstone.
Im an R class guy, but im noticing a slight difference already, only driven the stock lambo and its night and day. Still a wee bit rough particularly when dropping down to 2nd the back end kicks out but itll come with some more practice
If you notice the car is kicking out when downshifting then you are down shifting to early and your at too high of a speed. In the lambo even though it may seem like it’s slow, you don’t need to go below 3rd gear at all on monza except for the 1st turn. For the 1st corner you want to downshift all the way to 1st. The lambo kinda has that weird gear set up. It seems like your going too slow in 3rd gear taking some corners, but 2nd gear is to short for the corners as well. Trust me your better off staying in 3rd in corners like these, it’s much faster then downshifting and then having to shift a second later.
Also remember that it is possible to hit the E brake by accident if you have it mapped to the left bumper. Some cars will react instantly if you touch the E brake for a millisecond. You may not even realize that you are doing it while pressing the left trigger to use the Brake. I just had this happen with the Porsche 918 and it instantly came around while going through the first section of slow corners at VIR. I thought I got hit from behind but then realized it was my own finger touching the edge of the bumper.
With the Lambo, if you have a hard down shift and bang off the limiter, it will act like the E Brake was pulled. Like LSR wizard has said, the gearing is not optimum for Monza. It will bite so you have to lug some of the corners or you lose massive momentum. I am not doing well on Monza with the Lambo because of the gearing. My mind keeps telling me to down shift, LOL.
Ive basically hit the ground running with the clutch, wish id done it sooner tbh its not even difficult.
Ive noticed the banging limiter on the lambo like you say, prone to kicking the rear end out, only saving grace is the 4wd to help square yourself back up although slow corners are a pain.
I’ve found shifting a bit short can help a little in 3rd and 4th. Could just be the ghost I’m currently up against though. Anyone else confirm or deny?
Shifting is different in every car. You got to figure out what the optimal shifts are and an easy way to can idea of that is looking at the graphs when looking at one of the power upgrades. For example when you swap a car to the rally engine the shifts should be at 5k rpm (I think) I have not had much time with the stock lambo yet but so far I think the best shifts are just a little before the red line. Now this varies all the time. When you’re circuit racing and exiting/entering corners all the time you want to go as high into the Rev limiter as you can with out hitting it. The only time you shouldn’t do this is with the rally engine; and when your on long straights like monza or Lemans or road america. Just know the higher the speed the greater this will effect you. That’s why in slow corners pulling out of them on to straights with lambo you want to go all the way up to the redline up to about the 2nd 3rd gear. Basically the only time you don’t want to go to the red line is when youre on very straight roads. Like I said this varies with every car and I have not driven he stock lambo that much but I think the best shifts are just a little before the red line.
I always used the full range of revs when using just manual, to be honest i shouldve switched to clutch sooner. Its just a mix of laziness and complecency on my behalf because ive always been fast enough not to need it to get by. Its only when going for leaderboards and shaving them extra tenths off your times ive noticed a difference.
