Does anybody else have the issue where by there is no symbol next to the applicable cars when your searching for a new car to let you know which ones you currently own, I;E the “Car in garage” symbol. Strangely it is next to all the cars in your garage when you view them in your garage (thanks asi would have never known i own the car im looking at in my garage!) little bit strange as the system seems to be mistakenly program backwards lol.
This affects everyone.
Add a post to the Game Features Wishlist thread and maybe T10 will update it.
Forza 5 must be ready to release at the date the new xbox started… ok… but why are thoose bugs will not be fixed before new cars are build? there are a lot of cars in the game, i could wait some month for new cars if i get all the bugs fixed. Or does anyone bought Forza 5 becuse they will bring on a 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS ? until this day i didn’t know that this car exists (or existed).
i am a sucker and usually purchase nearly all the cars in every forza game. i already own over 100 cars in forza 5. in the previous games when you would browse through the available cars to purchase a small house icon appeared under the cars you already own. in forza 5 i do not see this and it drives me nuts because now i have to go back and forth between my cars and the car i was thinking of buying to see if i already have it. does anyone else notice this? am i missing something? is this going to be a feature of the marketplace? any feedback would be helpful. thanks
Because a patch would be free, instead they want to nickel and dime you to death.
same here, its really annoying that you need to have a rainman-esque memory when purchasing cars to remember what you already have. I have on two separate occasions bought cars i already owned because of this, and because you can sell or trade, only remove, its wasting my hard earned credits!! sort it out T10, can’t be that big of a change surely!
One of the Mods here - ManteoMax - has a site you can download a full list that you can use to keep track of your cars. manteomax.com
I put one of the online car lists in to a Google Docs spreadsheet than went through and added every car that was missing from the list (mostly DLC/LCE cars), then I went and marked all the ones I own (also over 100).
Now whenever I buy a car I go and mark it purchased.
PITA for a feature that mostly definitely should have been in the first update to fix but it work, I was tired of accidentally buying a car I already owned :(.
Here is the fully updated list of cars unmarked. I will be updating it whenever new car(s) are released.

Some of the prices/CR are set to 0 because I already owned them and didn’t have the stock info handy. The prices are also not updated (so it reflects the original game pricing on many of the cars which have been lowered).
It has already been discussed several times. Use the search function. They put the garage icon for the cars you own, on the cars in your garage instead of the dealership where they belong.
i went from right to left. i would check my garage and see what the first two cars i owned were. i bought everything up to the 1st car i owned then went back to my garage and double checked. then i bought everything between the two cars. then back to my garage making my stop point car the begining point car and buying all the cars between it and the next car in my garage. i own all the cars and to be honest it has made online a pain. it takes forever now to scroll over to the car i want and if i have to down load a tune for it i can hear the beep of the 15 second timer in the background going while the tune is loading. its a race to see if i get into the race with the tune i wanted. you dont want to go into an online circuit race with a drag or drift tune, you’ll be the crasher you hate in every other race.
I use the One Note app on my phone. Whenever I buy (or am gifted) a new car I just add it to the list.
Instead of all of the mentioned “tools” to keep track of the cars in the garage, wouldn’t it be more convenient/faster to just go back to the garage and give it a look?
Nope, and since the garage doesnt list them the same way this doesn’t stop you from accidently buying it twice either.
IE I own all the Ferrarri’s. There is a LOT of them, so when I went back to look to see if I had One, TWICE I missed it and purchased another. Because I have loaded tunes/etc they are not in the same order as when going to buy cars, etc.
Now I can just keep my list open on my laptop and a quick glance tells me if I own that car.
Of course the method used in Forza 2-4+FH would have been ideal, but since T10 can’t seem to be bothered to fix such an amazing important and simple feature, the list will have to do. (Yes, I know they just messed up and it shows this symbol in the Garage instead of where you buy cars, this SHOULD have been one of the first fixes. Not only is it inconvenient, it just looks stupid seeing the symbol when you go to your garage)
The little house icon is still there to show you what you own. If you open your garage you’ll see the icon on every car you own. Right where it’s least handy.
I use the approach that I will own them all anyway.
I sort to manufacturer and started with the iat 500 [I think that is the first car] - I use the car for every event it can do, I do not boost cars to higher classes and keep them tuned at their purchase class.
After the Abarth did all it could I move to the very next car, buy it, tune it keeping the same class it came with and again do every event it can do which might include event the previous car(s) have already done. Rinse and repeat.
Good for me to get used to tracks, I t ensures that I use each and every car fully and earns lots or manufacturer reputation, especially with likes of Ferarri and ford etc that have tones of cars. I also give each car a paint job and share and so as I progress I also have a paint job for each and every car I own unique for that car which does help to get painter achieves and rewards etc.
It’s a system I like to use anyway and you can hardly get confused if you just spent 30 races in a Honda Civic, you are certainly going to remember the last car you bought
Easy fix: I bought 230 “Hot Wheels” toy cars to represent each car in the game. I mark an X on the toy after I buy the car in game.
LOL!
I like this idea better than the garage icon being moved to the Autostore.
Now that’s funny. Nice collection. I might need to start the spreadsheet method because my collection is getting large. Haven’t really needed it but when it comes to the obscure cars, I might need it.
This made my day!
Sweet idea lol, you should post a pic of this
