Hi Guys,
I’ve not played Forza Motorsport religiously for a good while now, around 3 years. Back in the ‘Good Old Days’ of Forza 3 and Forza 4 I would blast hours into it, usually preparing for races with my team Maverick Speed Motorsports and tuning and painting. Just generally having a top time.
However due to work commitments I ended up slowly spending less time in game and unfortunetely my old team is no longer very active. Now I’m aware of the sort of big, serious, scary race organising communities like TORA and TURN but I’m really looking to get back into some more casual and regular racing. I’ve been getting into Forza 6 but with the updates to the physics and whatnot I’m finding that I’m pretty pants at it, I was never any good at tuning to boot before.
So to cut to the chase I was wondering if you guys have any tips for getting back into the swing of things, preferably a chilled out community I can join to get back into playing again. Any tips on mastering the tuning system and getting my head around the updated physics compared to the older games would also be great, I’m finding how I used to drive in the older games just doesn’t seems to work anymore.
Thanks to anyone who chips in with some tips. By all means shoot me a message if you need a clean, albeit slow person to race with.
I race a good share but 75% was offline until fairly recently still not a huge player as with you I also have real life responsibilities. Feel free to friend request me as I also am slow but race clean nearly to a fault. I really like to race hard but I want it to be clean and if some thing does happen I would rather it not be my fault. Just to warn you though I do make mistakes like driving too deep into some corners under heavy racing and push wide.
I myself REALLY like the PTG tunes they have their own forum and have some incredible artists there as well. I have been following them for several editions of Forza and will continue to do so! They are pretty fast and clean and have several different styles they do as well ( racing, drifting, etc.)
Welcome back and maybe will get the chance to race you soon.

Not much of a tuner either but thankfully the stock tunes seem very good even after upgrades. Of course they can all use a tweek here and there to suit your style though. I just got mine a month ago and have progressed fairly quickly but I am putting in daily track time but most of that has been learning new tracks. Most of the old tracks I fell right in line but Silverstone seems like a complete new track to me and none of my old tricks work on the Nordschleif so I am not near as fast as I was but at least I recognize where I am on the course. The addition of the complete circuit there is a gas too.
I ran in Free Race and Career and was able to build the bank very quickly but the past week I have been in Rivals a lot and trying to shed using assists like ABS and TCS. I like the Rivals as it gives me a target right in front of me and pulling off a good move I kind of get “instant gratification” when I shoot past the ghost. Mostly I try to treat them as solid cars instead of driving through but as I progress I find they are mostly in the best line so going around isn’t always an option if my goal is to take them down.
Either way for me repetitive laps are the key to gaining speed and control. The other night I was ripping around and the car just quit in the straight. I had NO IDEA what was wrong as I hadnt smacked anything hard enough to show damage. Turns out I had simply ran out of gas…

I am like you guys. Life and family keeps my on track time down but when I do get a chance to run I love this game. I started running in league races and almost got in the top 50 in the Indy car pro level one. I will run tonight and tomorrow night with that goal in mind.
I look forward to seeing you guys out there.
