Jetson's car? Or really angry tea kettle? You decide! lol. Mazda USF 2000 has some competition!

So…what do YOU think the Renault Spark sounds like? ha ha

This car is…interesting. Set a personal best at Road Atlanta Club. Beat my Mazda USF 2000 time by 0.4 seconds. Not to bad considering it can’t reach the top of A class (what’s up with that?!? lol).

I have to stop making Tea while racing this thing…eeesh. I’ve gotten fooled, I tell you! ha ha

The Jetson’s is the first thing I thought of when I first got behind the wheel.

It can go into S-Class if you upgrade the tires.

Yeah, but it’s stuck so low in S class it is not competitive. Most pointless way to upgrade a car possible…

I think with it being stuck at PI 697, it still has a lot of potential - afterall 3 PI is not a huge amount, but what the car has in room for tuning (have you seen how much front and rear downforce can be applied!!!) I think it could be made into something pretty special. Not Xbow fast, but oh boy is it a whole lot nicer to drive.

When I saw this car was in A-class I was really hoping that the Spark might be competitive on leaderboards against the X-bow. Unfortunately, the limited upgrade options seem to make this car a middle-of-the-pack racer in both A and S classes.

It’s still a heck of a lot of fun to drive. The grip is insane. It just needs a little more power and acceleration to be competitive.

It probably was possible for T10 to allow upgrades to make it into a real mean machine but I’m happy they kept it as it is. Its more accurate and realistic the way it is.
The real Formula E cars will only be maxing 220KPH. In my own opinion, I think souping up the cars can sometimes take away from what it truly is. Its cool to have the option but sometimes default is the best and most fun way to drive it.

sounds dull and boring to me. way too quiet.

It feels good to drive, but I need rumble. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve missed a shift or gotten distracted by the sound of the helicopter above.

Can anyone tell me why the Formula E car’s displacement reads “999,999,999.0 L”? I realize that this isn’t a “BIG” issue but, I’d just like to bring this to everyone attention. I also would like to know if this has happened to everyone, or it’s just me. Also, loving the free DLC. Great cars and all for FREE! Nice job Turn 10!

I think its just an error CasualHades. I’m the same. 999,999,999.0

Like a less intrusive hair dryer ! In all honesty I am loathing the future of racing if this is what we have to look forward too! f1 has already seen the ‘hybrid’ era and it can only get worse! I am a true petrol head and yes I appreciate the drive for greener technology but racing should be loud and intense, it’s like driving a 100mph + golf cart…just surreal with only tyre squeal and wind to accompany you on that fast lap. Let the world of the daily commute pick up the ‘E’ monicker long before racing does in my opinion :frowning: …still it was free and actually doesn’t look to shabby

…ok it handles a lot better than a 100mph + golf cart would but that’s about it

Yeah I hope all this electric and hybrid stuff doesn’t destroy the future of racing. I need to hear that engine roar paired with a loud exhaust to get my fix.

Sorry, OP, but you’re wrong on both counts. It is neither race car, nor tea kettle.

It is, in fact, a wheeled pencil sharpener.

Duuuuude, good one! Never thought of that! lol.

Great addition, just needs a little power upgrade to get it to the top of A class.

I keep forgetting to change gear as I can’t hear the engine revs,so I have to set to automatic.

Surely it cant take much to use your peripheral vision to see the rev counter, I do it all the time, specially when you’re racing the rally engine cars. Even a quick glance doesn’t take much?

raceboy has put together a really good grip tune for this car, i beat my Ferrari F50 time with at Silverstone.

The Stock version was a bit back end happy and was 4 seconds slower for me at Sivlerstone GP. If yu havent tried his tune, give it a go

All joking aside, I freakin’ LOVE this toaster. Geordi LaForge has one.

The displacement number might be a way they’ve had to fudge the physics to allow for 100% torque. Electric cars have all the torque available, so it may play havoc with the physics engine. Just a thought.
As for the sound, I used to work for a company doing R&D work on electric vehicles and conversion kits for any car to become electric. I know of at least 3 companies who were building subwoofers into the chassis that played an ‘engine’ sound that increased in pitch as the car went faster. We were using square waves to provide the electrical signal, so it was easy to take it off that. But yes, a lot of people seem to think noisier is better. Me, I think there’s nothing more amazing that a car doing 200MPH in almost total silence.
Plus, you can properly hear the tires, helps you figure out where you’re going wrong grip wise. lol
