I don’t know how many of the ‘old guard’ still frequent the forums, and I didn’t have a look at any threads to see who may still be around before writing this to check, as it almost always discourages me from actually posting my topic. Your artwork makes me jealous. Anyway, I haven’t touched the paint booth since Forza 4, and I don’t think I’ve ‘released’ a paint since Forza 3, so that’ll give you an idea of my current skill/laziness level - so adjust your expectations accordingly.
But we all get that itch occasionally and I found myself back in the booth yesterday trying to find some inspiration, which came in the form of a polar bear. Sort of. It’s a step away from what I’d really like to get back to which is some photo realistic practice, but it’s a paint nonetheless. I don’t really know how anyone would be able to find it, but I think it’s available to be downloaded…somewhere…maybe. I hated the storefront because it killed the auction house, and now it seems that they’ve gotten rid of them both for something that is better than neither.
Anywho, feedback is welcome. The sides are the same, but one side looks too dark and one looks too bright, so I figured I’d post both and you can use your imagination to average it out. Oh, it’s a '97 Skyline.
Welcome back. And awesome work. Now it looks like I may have to add you to the list of artists who make me jealous … I can see some real talent in your work. Can’t wait to see more.
As for one side being too dark and one too light … that’s just the light/shadow in the garage. Left side is in the light and right in shadow. If you haven’t taken it out for a spin yet, the left side is closest to what it’ll look like in the sun outside.
Thanks guys, I replaced the other side shot with the compulsory action shot (at Silverstone, so there wasn’t much sun). I know why one side was darker, just annoys me that there is still no way to position a light source when taking pictures, maybe I’m just easily annoyed though. I’m awful at layouts, so the orange was nice and simple and a contrast to the white and blue - I think it works.
Not sure when I’ll be painting something else anytime soon…it’s possible, just don’t count on regular releases, but I do appreciate the feedback.
