Overall yes I’m happy with the game. There’s still some minor issues but nothing huge. Great fun to drive, especially multi class races.
WRC anounced they’re to take their WRC gaming franchise in an “ambitious new direction” & they’d give more details soon.
Definitely more happy now than I was from my last post on this thread.
As a solo player though I would love to see a custom league & / or tour set up added to FreePlay Advanced mode with optional qualification (or grid setting option at least) to give solo players a reason to keep playing after SP Tours etc are completed .
Other than that im happy enough . Update 20 is definitely a step in the right direction & I think T10 are committed to updating & improving FM for the foreseeable future.
The hill-clumb aspect of Fujimi Kaido is pretty fun. I only wish there was a version of the track that combined both the new and old sections of the track into one point to point climb/decent route.
I need the subsequrnt A.I. improvements ASAP! They don’t race eachother. Turn that on, please.
Please give us camera adjustments and eventuallu full triple screen support.
As for the game overall… Its better than where it was when it launched. Its fun to drive but not perfect. As long as the team keeps making improvements and supporting the title, then I have little to complain about. Just endless things to ask for.
The game is very slowly getting to where it should be, but it’s still baby steps.
Over the last 6-7 months the progress on FM 2023 has been FAR better than the first year after launch. Whatever reorganization they’ve made at Turn10 (which they have to have done, no way this is the same team responsible for the game launch) has done wonders for how well everything works, feels, sounds, etc.
I voted that I am happy with the progress with the caveat that I am only happy with the RECENT progress. This game is now in a very good place and I hope the momentum continues, because despite the forward strides Turn10 have made here, it’s still not perfect.
But as of right now, I’m pleased with the game I bought a year and a half ago.
i agree with everything you asked for especially the multiplayer rework registration and rating and also that we should have more spec proto-h/p2/p3 and even better multi class where it is locked 12 players for each class.
Having not played for a few months, I can say that the game has improved a fair bit over the last six months. The track additions have been welcome but the game is still weaker in terms of content than it should be.
The AI on max difficulty is cleaner but it’s still not quick and they still don’t race each other or try to catch you once you overtake them, pretty fundamental for a racing game I’d say.
Overall, I’d say if you liked it at launch, you’ll like it more now, if you didn’t, you still won’t. I personally think the SP still makes the game feel like a BETA.
I have to agree with you on SP content. That is something T10 has been severely low on. Last year they said tours were going to become permanently added into the Builders Cup. While I do appreciate the annual updates. (Seriously T10 keep those coming.) SP content really needs to be buffed in order for the game to feel more complete, imo. Time for T10 to kick things into high gear a bit. They seem to have FINALLY found their stride. Now they need to keep up that momentum.
Yeah I think with this update they set the bar higher and they need to use this as a base moving forward.
If they do this game can grow into an amazing instalment in the series.
This is a good list, I’ll add a few of mine that I’d like to see that don’t often get mentioned
- TC slider, and even better, a way to adjust this mid-race
- Cockpit seat adjustments
- Ability to toggle on/off the obtrusive rollcage when in cockpit view (mainly applies to rollcage upgrades).
- Ability to toggle on/off windscreen in cockpit view (remove all reflections and tint)
I think the game has come a long way from its release. I agree with KaylosJFB’s list above. I would love to see stats on the races (lap times, etc. especially on timed races).
I also think there should be some sort of licensing requirement to drive the faster cars. Too many people drive cars that they can’t control. Especially in multi-class, when I am driving in a slower class, the faster classes come through like you aren’t even there, even if I give them room to pass. Especially on Nordschlief I am usually hit and pushed off-track, or completely blasted from behind when the faster classes come through. My rating is S499+, and I try to be consciously aware of other drivers no matter what class they are racing. I can’t remember the last time I pitted someone, but it happens to me way too frequently!
Just my $.02.
A brake bias sister would be nice too.
Actually, I’m not upgrading, I’m still on ‘given up hope’.
…and re this, I’m pretty sure it won’t.
p.s. Is replying to myself a sign of mental illness?
Self-trolling?
Super new changes:
- The possibility to play “Forza torpedo” in the new public multiplayer meetups
- The introduction of parades
Recently the AI is traveling in parade formation. Side by side, they now drive hundreds of laps - Side by side in a T-34-like formation. They don’t fight, they parade. The only thing missing is the right place for this ridiculous parade.
And by the way: the AI slams you in the butt shortly after the start, pushes you against the wall, causes you massive damage - and of course you get a 0.5 second penalty.
As always, the AI does not receive a penalty.
Oh dear God, what does “Forza Motorsport” really have to do with motorsport?
It’s not necessarily embarrassing for the developers, it brings more things that you have more fun with by not playing it.
Still feels like an early access game from a young, short-handed team.
But it has potential!
Give them time to gather experience, say 20 years, and they’ll be spitting fire.
By then, they’ll have moved on or been downsized like the prior ones, and the 1-step-forward+2-steps-back cycle will repeat again.
Game has definitely improved, but to still have no stat tracking in a racing sim is a big miss. I’d like to see some type of driver card showing single/multiplayer wins, miles driven, etc. In Forza Horizon they have stats for every car you own.
As of now I have a love/hate relationship with the game.
Love because they’re adding tracks and other content which keeps me curious but that’s about it.
Hate because they keep ruining car sounds or don’t do the proper research or at least book a car and track to record proper sounds for it. If they could do all that for FM 4-6, why not 2023?
If they honestly take sounds seriously and faithfully recreate the soul and character of each car as closely as possible, this will be my go-to game. That, and the removal of hand holding steering aids on the controller. The physics need a step up. About time Forza gave iRacing and Assetto Corsa a run for its money.
