so i am new to Forza Motorsport, but do i really need to be in 1st, second and 3rd place? I often struggle to reach the podium but able to finish races withiut any penalties and good segment scores.
Anyone can really explain me what are the rules of the races and what is the objective of the races?
Aside from getting more credits, it doesn’t make any difference where you finish; if you are in one of the featured series, you’ll still collect the reward cars for completing all the races in a given series.
You can adjust the difficulty settings to have your oppoents at the level that gives you the most fun when racing.
Competition: The primary objective is to compete against others, testing skills, strategy, and machinery skills to emerge victorious.
Personal challenge: For many, racing is about pushing oneself to improve, overcoming personal limitations, and achieving new lap times or racing milestones.
Thrill and excitement: Racing provides an adrenaline rush, a sense of speed, and the thrill of navigating challenging tracks and conditions.
Sportsmanship and camaraderie: Racing fosters a sense of community, sportsmanship, and respect among competitors, who share a passion for the sport.
Innovation and progress: For some, racing is about driving innovation, pushing the boundaries of technology, and advancing the sport as a whole.
Entertainment: Let’s not forget that racing is also a form of entertainment, providing spectators with thrilling experiences and memorable moments.
It gives me an adrenaline rush, close racing, good battles for positions, the engine sounds, the faster I go the bigger my smile gets. Been that way since before I could walk. Pops would take me on the Harley ride and hold me just putsy putsy around the block with him holding me but he said I was all smiles, laughs, goosebumps cried when we had to go in the house . Getting gold trophies, a sense of accomplishment.
Many racers this was there income to pay the bills and put food on the table, support the family. Be as good as you want to be, aslong as your having fun.
Several players - including myself - have not received a reward car in a few different series until they finished every series at least on the podium. I had one series where I didn’t get it until I placed first in each series.
I’m not sure if the several particular series were glitched, why it only appeared to affect certain players, or perhaps most players weren’t affected because they make sure that they win each series…
Then when you win races you get a nice fleeting dopamine kick that subsides when you don’t have stats to review nor functioning replays to look back on
When I had an internship at a racing team they explained why safety comes third. First comes winning, second comes having fun and safety comes third. A lot of people do seem to live by these rules.
For me, I want good battles over anything else, no matter what position it’s for.
There are no objectives in multiplayer to speak of other than to race for fun. Game carries no stats of any kind.
In single-player “career mode”, objective is to win the car at the end of a series (since you can choose the difficulty, it becomes pretty easy.)
Rivals is just to have the best time possible. No actual prize for it other than credits.
Do wish the game had an actual career mode, but we have what we got.
You should need to win to progress but T10 decided to go all participation trophy so now you just need top 3. It’s not as bad as FH though where you only need to finish the race to win.
Sorry, hard disagree. Did Max Verstappen need to win every race to win the F1 Driver’s Championship? Does a driver in F2 need to win every race to progress and have an F1 team offer him a contract for the next season?
From a gameplay perspective, I’d argue that taking the onus off of winning everything opens up the possibility of better on-track battles, as it makes it possible to challenge yourself with higher difficulty AI opponents that you might otherwise be hesitant to race against.
Requiring the player to win to advance is boring - it encourages setting the difficulty to a level where the outcome of the race is all but guaranteed before it even starts.
Max won the driver’s championship by finishing 5th? So what you’re saying is that when you look at the driver’s leaderboard there were 4 drivers who finished the season on more points that he did but because he’s Max he automatically wins? That’s not how winning works. Winning = 1st place. What you’re trying to say is that you don’t need to win every race to win the championship and I 100% agree with that. To win a championship though you still need to finish 1st overall. In FM you only need to finish top 3. In FH you only need to finish. Enjoy your last place winners trophy.
I think it’s pretty clear that that’s not at all what I’m saying.
Good, we agree on something. But that’s only partly what I’m saying.
When you finish top 3 in a championship in Forza, does the game tell you anywhere that you won? I don’t recall it doing so. I think of this as a case of the example I mentioned previously where you’ve done “well enough” to progress to the next “stage of your career” so to speak.
As an example, how many drivers who are currently in the top level of their discipline - whether it be F1, Indy, WEC, WRC, NASCAR, etc. - have won EVERY SINGLE CHAMPIONSHIP they’ve entered on their way up the ranks to get where they currently are? Not many, I’d guess. McLaren didn’t say to Lando Norris, “nope, sorry, you didn’t win the F2 championship, you only came in 2nd. That’s not good enough, we’re not interested in signing you to our F1 team. You’ll have to do F2 again until you win.”
Yes, winning is the goal, and it certainly helps you get where you want to be, but it’s not always a requirement in real life and it shouldn’t be in this game, either.
