Is this the final straw for Twitter

Not really, because of the way certain parties have been behaving because their echo-chamber suddenly went in a way they didn’t like. That’s led to these parties going out of their way to disrupt and destroy the platform because THEY don’t like what has happened, and that was seen the moment that Musk announced he was wanting to take over, before he did take over, and ever since.

These people crying the most about Twitter are in a minority, and when people are going out of their way to destroy a business, and the livelihoods of all who work for said business, it is prudent to take measures to prevent that, especially with the way that these groups have become so militant in their behaviour.

Twitter will go on longer than these militant minority groups will, for stifling free speech in the way they are behaving shall never be acceptable no matter what these people think. And what doesn’t help is the selective reporting by the Press which belies their own position insofar as “indoctrination over information” goes.

As we’ve seen with various subjects, there is a growing backlash against those who wish to dictate that only their viewpoint is acceptable, and that is why Twitter will go on no matter what once these people are locked out and ignored.

PS. Would you be happy with any kind of bot using anything you say or do for its purposes without your express permission? I wouldn’t.

I don’t do Twitter either, but it doesn’t change how all this nonsense only started when a loud minority spat the dummy because they didn’t get their own way. And even a cursory look at the press tells you that the activity is there, and there’s nothing wrong with ensuring your business, and the users, are protected from those data mining and abusing the platform, for that is what this is all about.

And that’s why AI has so many failures…

If you’re having to rely on Twitter for things like that, then there’s something wrong as that info is always going to be available on official sites. And, of course, by looking at official sites you are not at the risk of misinformation either.

I do have a twitter account (mostly for keeping up with friends and some of my Youtube follows). I see it as a net positive. It should in theory get people off of social media more often and maybe outside interacting with others instead of sitting around the house/apartment taking verbal jabs at others. The bot stuff is crazy and I think will remain that way.

I get random follows by accounts that have never posted a thing and have only existed for a month or so. I remove them instantly every time I see one.

When you look at the fine details, you realise that Twitter is “social media” as you have people posting and reacting in a manner no different to the likes of Facebook. And the end result is that people spend more time on that treating it as “real life” and follow that up with everything else you see people doing on social media as they somehow believe a twitter account in their name with identifying details is “untraceable”. And you highlight how people have been abusing the system as well with “new” accounts, something which has gone on since Day One, but is also something that has gone far worse because some are throwing tantrums because they didn’t get their way, like you see in so many other aspects of life in the “Western” world nowadays

And @Lens00788814159, they say “look at our Twitter page”. You’ll see that change as people start firing off. And there are other sites such as “downdetector” that can tell you all sorts of things. My ISP has the decency to warn me of any preplanned work and shut downs via SMS, and when things drop I have never looked at social media of any kind for info because you can end up trawling through so much guff, and if everything is down then the “Office” isn’t going to be able to use Twitter either! So other means, and some common sense after going through the usual procedures to make sure it isn’t at my end, gives me the answer without seeing so many crying about any sort of brownout (Called a “brownout” because of the colour underwear and trousers go when they find out that they can’t see whatever unimportant facet of someone’s life has been sent out for all and sundry to see).

Just wait until Zuck’s version sinks as people realises EXACTLY what he is doing with their data.

The funniest bit about this rebranding is people going “What does this mean, I’m so confused by it”. Well, if you get “confused” by the same thing having a different symbol I guess you buy your underwear at C&A so you know which way round it goes on…

Just for giggles, you know how Zuckerberg came out with “Threads”? It’s a roaring success, between July 7 and July 22 the number of active users dropped from 49 million to 12 million.

Oopsie!
