Is there a reason that I do not have the option to rewind when I am test driving a car

I try to limit my use of rewind in real races, mainly using it when I get crashed into by some crazy drivatar. But I do find that it saves a really good race. Sometimes it’s my mistake as well.

The one place that I really can’t understand that I have no option to rewind however is when I’m test driving a car. If there was ever a time that rewind was usable and useful it would be here. Often you get a new car and upgrade it to take it to a travk and try to test its limits. Maybe you put it into a wall while testing new brake settings. It sure would be nice to be able to rewind so that you didn’t have damage at that point and go ahead to retry that corner until you figured out exactly what was the right speed. Isn’t that the point of test driving?

Uh oh, I hope that’s not the case. I use it a lot in free-play when I’m testing track times from a standing start. Once I pass the finish line I pause and write down the lap time, then rewind before the finish line so I can be at a full stop again before crossing it… this will be a pain if they changed it.

We feel your pain - its been this way for a while now… not sure if there has been an answer to this or not - I’ve just accepted it for what it is.

I only use TD for tuning and if I feel descent about it ( loose car and just need to get the line down) I do it in rivals where I can rewind until I get the line well enough and make a decision and go back to the tune and test drive. But that is really the only place it hurts when the car is totally at its limit or you don;t know the track and if you don’t know the track - do it in rivals to learn the track.

Sorry only workarounds but doubt this will change…

Free Play set up with no other cars on track is also another option.

Is there an option to turn off damage when test driving?

I don’t believe there is. Basically so there’s no confusion for anyone in freeplay and rivals and all those other things you can do rewind and turn off damage. But when you’re in the upgrade or tune part of the menu settings and you hit the button that takes you right to test drive directly from the tune screen that has no ability to change damage or rewind. So you basically have to apply your save or tune/upgrade and then go to free play if you want to use those settings. not the end of the world but it seems weird that it wouldn’t be there. doesn’t even make sense that they would remove it actually. Especially considering there is an option from the test drive to change the assists

There used to be some options for test drive. I have test drove a few cars in this game but haven’t noticed regarding damage. The car was damaged when I crashed but I assumed it was cosmetic as that is what my difficulty is set to. Crashing into a tire wall at 200 mph in the E23 did not affect it’s drivability.

No rewind in test drive though.

They should have ghost in tuning.

In FM5 there was no rewind during test drives. So nothing changed. As for damage, that’s in the assist drop downs. Turn it off and drive all you like.
