Is 'The Stig's Digital Cousin' too easy?

Hey all. I’ve been playing a fair bit of Forza recently, and have been coming up against The Stig’s Digital Cousin in quite a few challenges - but it seems over easy. In real life, The Stig is meant to be almost unbeatable, getting lap times similar to F1 drivers round the TG circuit, racing the wheels off whatever he drives. In Forza 5 though, I (a supremely average driver at best) can beat him with Drivatar difficulty turned up all the way with no difficulty at all. Is anyone else finding the same?

I agree. I wish he was actually a challenge since he’s, you know, the Stig’s digital cousin.

It does make it clear there a glitch in his coding which makes him beatable. But i know what you mean. I suppose it depends on what setting you have for your drivatars/assists.

I did assume that he would be fallible, if he was as good as the real stig a lot of casual players would be up in arms. Its a difficult balance between being hard enough to warrrent the ‘stig’ connection, but still accessible. Having said that, it is really easy to beat these. The real stigs of forza are on the leaderboars though!

Edit: am i showing up as a tier 1 to anyone else? Should be on tier 6! Is this a bug?

I think it’s just a forum glitch because if you go to the rewards page it shows the correct tier and points.

Thanks, I did just check and all is well.

Yes he is…that’s all that needs to be said

To be honest when I first came across that race I thought, “man I am going to have to have a near perfect race.” Not so much, I found it a lot easier than I expected.

I also thought the Stig’s Digital Cousin challenges have been a little too easy…maybe they can tie it to drivatar level you have set in a future patch so that the quicker guys can feel a little more challenged.

yes

very easy

it’s the stig’s very distant second cousin, twice removed, who isn’t quite as good a driver as the stig, but likes to boast because he’s the stig’s distant relative.

If you play on pro or unbeatable, the top 3 drivatars are usually faster than he is. He’s just not a challenge at all :frowning:

way too easy.

His difficulty seems to be constant regardless of settings. As for how easy he is, that probably depends on the skill level of the player. Folks on message boards tend to be quite a bit more skilled than typical players. In one topic, someone asked how he would know if he was “above average,” and someone replied “be in the top 500.” Top-500 would put him easily in the top fraction of a percent, which would be quite a bit above average. I’m normally in the top 5%, if not top 1% or 2% on leaderboards, but on GameFAQs they had a topic wherein we post our best Laguna Seca times in a B car and I was the slowest of those posted, even though my time was in the top 1% on the leaderboard for B cars at Laguna Seca and I am normally fast than nearly all of my friends.

Long rant short - message boards don’t reflect the typical player. What a board finds easy might not be for an average player. We aren’t close to average. Even with me being a bit slow relative to the folks lurking on Forza forums, I’m still ahead of almost all players, which means folks here don’t even get within sight of a typical player. The Stig challenge is easy for us, but what about the average player who is several seconds slower per lap?

He’s slow…

Some say…he’s a bit rubbish

I have to admit, I thought it’d be a little more difficult to beat the Stig than it is. If you really want a challenge, try to beat his times he’s actually ran on the show and see if you can best him. That’s really the best way to do it.

Apparently the glitch in the Stig’s Digital Cousin is that once you pass him he gives up.

I think Stig’s Digital Cousin is missing few bits upstairs and lacking a byte in traction.
