Introducing the VRA Motorsport Group

The VRA Motorsport Group is an exciting new online racing group for Forza Motorsport 6. The Virtual Racing Association has been set up with a plan to host several different online racing series to a very high standard. Along with professionally run online series, the VRA will also be providing great media coverage during events, covering races with full re-runs available on YouTube, and images and features available on the website.

There is a plan of various series that will be run over the course of the next few years. These include a mixture of fun and exciting new race series that have been brainstormed by the Virtual Racing Association.

Volvo Super Trophy

A one-make series featuring the Volvo S60 STCC car. All cars in the series will be stock with no upgrades, and tuning will not be allowed so all drivers will be at an equal playing field, meaning only the driver can make the difference when on track. This will be the inaugural VRA championship and will be an excellent stepping stone for drivers to go on to enter into some of our great championships next year.

Ultracar Sports Trophy

For most, hypercars are a thing you can only dream of. But in the Ultracar Sports Trophy, drivers will compete in some of the worlds most expensive and exclusive cars side-by-side in some of the fastest racing outside of Formula 1. Bugatti, McLaren, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini to name a few brands represented in this fantastic spectacle. All together there will be 9 brands, with teams of two meaning 18 drivers wrestling these fabulous cars around six of the worlds most iconic circuits.

V8 Supercup

Another exciting series to be announced, the V8 Superstars Championship will be split into two series. The US V8 Supercup Trophy will feature three of the current crop of the iconic Muscle Car from Chevrolet, Dodge and Ford. The Camaro Z/28, Challenger SRT and Mustang GT are great rivals away from the track, but on circuit the rivalry is increased. The US series will take place over 11 different circuits across the USA, giving some of the best racing around.
The European V8 Supercup features V8 powered executive heavyweights from Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Maserati and Mercedes-Benz. Racing across 9 of Europe’s best venues, the European version of the series will not disappoint.

Track Toys Cup

The Track Toys Cup features road-legal cars designed for the track. Cars like the Radical RS8, BAC Mono and KTM X-Bow. These cars are super lightweight, very powerful, but most of all, full of grip, making them extremely fast. Another exciting series, the Track Toys Cup promises to be full of fast-paced action.

GT400

The idea is taken from popular Japanese series Super GT, which features GT500 and GT300 classes. The GT500 cars are high downforce GT cars with 500 horsepower, whereas the GT300 are GT3 or similar spec cars producing 300 horsepower. Our GT400 will be production GT style cars outputting 400 horsepower each. Over ten manufacturers will be available for teams and drivers to race with in these long distance races of up to 2 hours long.

VRA are currently working on their website, which, when ready can be found at vra.weebly.com

We’re now open for drivers to join the Virtual Racing Association and enter into our new up and coming series. First up it’s the Volvo Super Trophy spec series featuring the Volvo S60 STCC. We will be limiting the initial driver entries to just 20 drivers for now, so get in quick if you want to join. The format for the Volvo Super Trophy will run with a 10-15 minute qualifying session prior to the first race. There will then be two races, each roughly 20 minutes long. Due to the fact there won’t be multiple lobbies worth of drivers, we won’t have to waste time sorting each driver into their correct lobbies after each qualifying and race, so each race meeting should realistically take just an hour to comolete in total, great for people who may be on a tight schedule.

The series will feature a Safety Car. The Safety Car for this event will be the Volvo S60 Polestar (rather appropriately), and this will feature during the grid setting lap, and formation lap for each race. Also, if an accident or event occurs which severely effects two or more cars on track, (such as a crash causing high damage or a first corner pile-up etc.) the Safety Car may be called out to help out the affected drivers. Due to the short nature of the races though, we will try to limit the number of times a SC is called out.

Qualifying and races for this series will all have full media coverage and news features covering each event in great depth, as well as full race re-runs available to be watched with commentary.

We now hope to have our new, more professional looking website available soon. I’ve had a few people ask about the website, and it’s coming along. It will be found at virtualracingassociation.co.uk

Thank you, and we hope to see some of you on track with us very soon
