Interior view is way too dark

From what i’ve seen the interiors in Forza Horizon 6 are way too dark in general, compared to Forza Horizon 4 which had near perfect lighting in that sense. It’s so bad that the backlighting in some cars activates even during daytime. It’s sad since you can’t barely see anything other than the dashboard, which hides all the details of the interior.

For reference, here’s a screencap of the interior view in FH4. While I do think it’s a little too bright, it’s definitely way better than in FH5 and FH6

Here’s one from FH6:

Additionally, here’s one from a comparison video between FM8 and Assetto Corsa Evo. I am aware that Forza Motorsport likely uses an older model in this case, but I still think the lighting issue can and should be fixed.

Potentially a very good catch. I play almost exclusively in behind the wheel view and FH5 had some major lighting issues with the interior camera views, often being incredibly dark but on some rare occasions also being excessively bright. I think FH5 even saw a patch once trying to improve the darkness issue, though plenty continued to persist.

There’s also the matter of headlights often being next to useless, likely made worse because of this dark filter.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on this once the game launches.

Do you play on PC with MSAA on?

The MSAA implementation in FH5 has a texture layering bug for translucent and transparent layers.

None of the AA solutions are good in 5, but TAA or, if you have the option, DLSS or DLAA are the options I’d recommend.

This is great info, thank you so much! Hanging onto this for later! I’m not sure what settings I was using with 5, thought it was DLSS but I haven’t checked in a while.

FH5 allows you to turn on multiple AA solutions at once for some reason, so be careful of that as well.

I want a setting that keeps the instrument panel lights up at all times, regardless of whether the headlights are on or off.

I think a good solution to the backlighting/instrument panel lighting issue would be sync them to the headlights so that they aren’t on during daytime for whatever reason. Like I said earlier it’s gotten to a point where the backlighting activates because of how dark it is.
