Interferance through headset.

Just wondering if anyone else is having the issues that I am having whilst playing multiplayer on F5. It comes across like someones kids are in the room playing nintendo or a Vista game whilst Dad is playing forza. It appears the mic is on and just picking up background noise, they don’t answer so I assume it is not even on their head. Annoying as it is I can handle those background noises, it’s the new step that it’s taking that I can’t handle. I am starting to wonder if there is a gadget out there that can interfere with your controller? Last night when ever I went to turn a corner this machine gun sound comes through, the picture jumps and control of the car is zippo, then the machine gun sound stops and it goes back to normal and I’m passed. This really sux. When you mention it to anyone else in the room everyone acts dumb and can’t hear anything, yet their cars are doing the same thing and they are moaning about it. So is this happening to anybody else? or is it just me??

Many gamer’s attach their headset but are not wearing it so as to not have the voices of others piping through their television/sound system speakers. Unfortunately, some inadvertently - or, sometimes, intentionally - leave the talk switch to ‘on’. Of course, you can chose to mute these folks and - for the bunch that opts for the unmanned headset method - there are even simpler ways of preventing Xbox Live chatter.

As for controller interference: in the entirety of wireless controllers, I have never heard of one being interrupted by any other device. The frequencies are likely set in such a way (proprietary) that avoids any sort of interference with other wireless devices. Instead, what you are probably witnessing is network lag either on your end and/or your opponent’s end.

It’s more likely the other people’s Kinect that transmit the background noises.
To avoid it you could plug in your own headset, mute it (to not bother other players) and turn down it’s volume.
