Like others have said should they have Barn Finds be interactive like repairing and painting the car yourself or take it to the closest horizon festival and have them repair it?
I believe for FH6 they should allow us to have interactions with the car like repairs etc
Barn Finds definitely lack depth, they virtually haven’t changed since FH1 13 years ago. Would be so cool to having to tow the car yourself and bring it to the workshop to repair it immediately or later if you don’t have the money to fix it right away. This would really make these cars special.
I’m mostly fine with the barn finds as they are now. That being said, however, there are two things about them in their current state that irk me.
One, I don’t like how all of the barns look exactly the same. There should be more variety in how they look so they’re a little more difficult to find.
Two, Horizon 1 had this really unique detail that none of the AI used the barn finds in races, which made the barn find itself feel more special and unique to the player. This was sadly done away with in Horizon 2 and onwards, but it’s a small attention to detail thing I wish was brought back.
My big problem with barn finds is how they create virtual scarcity around certain cars.
I’m deathly afraid that the AE86 is going to be a barn find in FH6. Kind of a bad situation when you’d prefer a car to be wheelspin exclusive.
I enjoy the idea. I mean my ideal car video game that I have in my head definitely has barn and junkyard finds, though I would employ them more as a hidden gem for cheap with some restoration mechanics as opposed to cars exclusively found in barns.
how is a car that everybody can get by reaching a specific location more scarce than something that you might never get because the RNG doesn’t come up with the right number?
Because RNG can proc multiple times, and there is theoretically no limit to the number of wheelspins you can get.
There can only be x number of barn find cars in the game in total, where x=number of active players. Wheelspin excusive cars have no limitation. Which means they will eventually be cheaper in the auction house all other factors being equal.
To be clear, I don’t like either system. I was just using wheelspin exclusive cars as an example of how undesirable having cars as barn finds is.
