In this edition of In Focus we delve deeper into the amazing work of FRS ElMutem, creator of these amazing liveries!
We also announce the winners of the Wk7 In Focus Photo Contest.
Hope you enjoy the article and if you have any comments you’d like to make or have any suggestions for future contributors then by all means please let me know what you’re thinking in this thread. I’ll be gifting out some small credit prizes to my favorite posts, and if one of your suggestions for future contributors to In Focus comes to fruition then an even larger credit prize may await you!
Hi Ian,
Thanks for the In Focus each week. I always enjoy seeing what these artists can do with the paint and design tool.
I have a suggestion for a future In Focus - How about putting out a call for the best 3-D effects paintwork. I remember a few artists in FM4 that created paintjobs where you would think the images were several inches above the surface or they would great the illusion of wide body panels that really were not there! This really takes a special skill. I would love to see more of these 3D effects in FM5.
Thanks to all of the great artists out there so far in FM5!
Thanks for listening,
RescueDog
Hi Ian,
I hope this link will work and get you to an album I set up in Flickr that shows some 3D street art examples and one example of a 3D SRT badge. I will look for some photos of some actual cars with this type of paintwork, but I thought this would get the idea across. Hard to believe these are painted right on flat sidewalks and roads. I was looking at this type of artwork just yesterday and then when you asked for some future ideas, I thought this might be a great contest for the great artists we have in FM4 and FM5.
First off, thanks Ian for the weekly In Focus articles. As I said before, it’s always really cool to see artist behind the scenes. Really appreciate the photo comps that you have tied into this as well.
ElMutem’s work is fantastic and looks very complex. You can tell a lot of work has been put into each design. Great job man!
Congrats to all the selected photo winners, some really great shots guys!
My suggestion for next weeks In Focus is for Doodley Squat. He was a very talented painter and event coordinator for the club Deadlights Kustoms, DOODLEY’S DOODLES. He is a very well known member of the community.
Unfortunately you will not be able to interview him as I say with a heavy heart, he has past on Wednesday morning due to a heart attack. But that shouldn’t stop from being in consideration for the spotlight. You could interview others that were close to him and write a eulogy of some sort. This way others who didn’t know him can see what he loved to do and how he effected others. He was truly a great man and would be a nice tribute to him and possibly his family who doesn’t know what he did for this community.
