I'm better than me...

I think that might be the dumbest phrase I’ve ever heard come out of my mouth. Yet, I’ve been saying it all day. I took another poster’s advice and have been running against myself as a rival on a lot of tracks. Evrytime I see myself make a good move or I can’t catch myself, out comes, “Damn, I’m better than me’”

Just bizarre…

Haha I do that too. Sometimes I re-run a track a few weeks later and I cant catch myself. Just sit there wondering "how did I do that?’

I’ve lost to my own Drivatar before. I played on another account on the easiest AI setting because I was half asleep and lost to my Drivatar despite the newbie AI setting.

How do you race against your driveatar? Can you challenge yourself somehow?

Yes, select yourself in the leaderboard (need to be on the ‘Near me’ or ‘Friends’ page) and set yourself as the rival.

That is how you race your own best lap ghost. If you really want to to race with your “drivatar”, you need a second gold account and friend yourself so your AI controlled drivatar from your primary account can can show up in the field.

I don’t think i have gotten better chasing myself.

Am I the only person who thinks that this is a terrible idea? Why would you want to race your personal best? Personally I prefer to race someone much faster than myself. Typically i aim for someone in the top 1-50. As long as you can keep an eye on their line or you are close enough to see how they navigate the course. If you race your personal best all you are doing is watching your previous mistakes… if you are top 1000 you are still as much as 8-10 seconds away from the top(not saying you are top 1000, I have no clue what you are). Why would you want to watch your, likely not as good line when it is just as easy to watch someone who is obviously doing something better than you did to begin with. Maybe you will pick up on something watching someone else that you hadnt thought of. Maybe they go much farther into the grass then you think you can, maybe they are braking at a completely different point from you. Stop watching your own mistakes it can not be helpful. The only thing its good at is showing you where you screwed up when you try a dif line and come out of the corner a little faster.
