I like the puddle effect and though I can’t compare the game experience of real-life hydroplaning, I have to say it seems realistic enough to me and does require some forethought and skill as you approach and exit them. I see no issue with them at all but I grin ear to ear of how cool they work each time I’m racing in a rain situation. I love the rain especially on Brand Hatch! So for those of you complaining, just figure a way to negotiate the damn puddles and stop wining!!!
Puddles feel great to me… They are NOT like driving on ice. If one is driving fast and trying to turn at the same it just won’t work. The trick to puddle is to have the wheels as STRAIGHT as possible + anticipation that the car’s momentum will carry it in a straight line.
T10 did a great job, generally speaking. The disappointing part is that the puddles are static and predictable so one can anticipate their arrivals and PLAN for it. Real life is, however, about constant changes and that’s what makes rain + night so exciting; the changes.
So I welcome the wet+puddles as these are prelude to the next steps that T10 will take: changing weathers and day/night transitions.
From what I’ve assumed, these are puddles caused by dips in the track or poor drainage spots. I live in one of the rainiest places in the US and when accumulations of water like this occur, it doesn’t really matter how fast you’re going. You’ll always feel the wheel jerk. I’ve driven in POS skinny tires, sport tires, and all terrain off roading tires and the effects are similar. Only thing I’m skeptical about is the accuracy of the dips/volume of water in some areas.
Forza’s puddles aren’t you’re everyday puddle. These are large accumulations of water. In real life, I see these everywhere (our roads suck) and everyone avoids them due to the danger they can cause.
