How's everyone liking Forza 7 - should I buy

How are you going to know if you’re going to like a game without buying it? None of these problems are going to emerge in the demo. The license server bug isn’t going to emerge in the demo. “Don’t Buy” is such a terrible response. it solves nothing.

[Mod Edit - accusing others is not allowed - MM]

And yeah, I have played an obscene amount of this game, because despite it being deeply flawed. At it’s core I love this game, but i don’t love the devteam that lets such blatant flaws go unfixed. There’s still not a reset button. There’s no storefront for painters, something 4 had. There’s no way to search for a specific time in the bounty hunters and download their ghost, an extremely easy feature to implement because this game was developed by a devteam that’s moved onto the next 2 games and is securing licenses for the 3rd. Turn10 has too many plates spinning at once, and people like you who don’t stop clapping when one falls and shatters does nothing to help the situation.

There is no way on god’s green earth i can Recommend this game to anyone. No way i can recommend a game that costs $100 for the full version, can’t support it’s own features, and is set on autopilot the very day after it launches. No way i can recommend a game that runs like hot garbage when the studio is owned by the same people who made the OS for the computer the game is running on!!!

Interesting concept. I would have thought there’s more than enough reviews around for someone to form an opinion.
By your logic you must buy every game released just to see if you like it?

You’re the perfect Forza customer, no matter how bad the game is you’ll still buy it.

Personally, I’ve had very few issues with the game.
As for multiplayer, you get good and bad races. There’s nothing wrong with the game, only the people that play it.

@Stang616 What sort of coin do you make? Wouldn’t mind getting in on the action!

You already are in on it! You make the same coin I do

If you’re going to call someone out for being a paid poster, which by the way do NOT exist, you better be sure you know what you are talking about and be able to provide proof. I am in no way compensated by Microsoft/T10 to post here and never have been, no one is ever paid to post here and provide feedback. The Twitter account you found is one I had several years ago and rarely use and would therefore, have very few tweets. It has not been cleared as you say. The retweets were from a contest that was running a while ago for a DLC code giveaway or something, it’s so long ago, I don’t even remember.

The only purpose that account serves at this time is for voting in their polls for the SD cars.

You have fun on your witch hunt, you won’t find any evidence to support it.

I was called a shill once. I actually had to google what it meant because I’m obviously not one.

This may come off as a plug, but since the first thing you mentioned was MP, I suggest checking our Forza Friday or Tuesday Drive and decide for yourself. T10 employees play mostly in MP lobbies for a few hours twice a week. While there are many regulars who race cleanly, there are also some random people who join in. There was also a Race Marshal program that was implemented about a month ago to help weed out those who play just to grieve others. Perhaps a bit too early to say if it’s made a serious difference or not. There are several YouTube channels (and probably other Twitch channels) dedicated to FM as well if you don’t want to go with the official stream. JSR Devon comes to mind on YouTube.

I’ll admit that I race way more in free play than online, so my experience with MP lobbies is limited to ghost league races, but at least this way you can see some of the MP racing first hand prior to making a call.

Funny, when Mechberg had Alan Hartman on last week,he was racing before Alan came in online and I seen a race marshal wreck mechberg 3 times in the same race, yes a race marshall!!!

I don’t remember seeing that, but was sort of racing myself at the time. That said, one of the reasons I suggested checking it out is because it is a live stream, so it isn’t a sanitized experience. Sometimes the game glitches out, sometimes people hang back for a lap just to wreck into whoever is in first, usually PJ wins, and sometimes there are some really good races.

Other than the added options to freeplay, i dont think there were any positive changes made. Most if not all issues from 6 werent addressed and most of the “new” features bring their own issues. I dont think its a bad game but if you were on the verge of leaving the forza franchise after 6 theres really nothing in forza 7 that will keep you playing. I will also say this is the buggiest and least polished forza game they have ever released. If i was you id wait a few more months and wait till its a little cheaper, it has seen a decent amount of discounts already and i see that trend continuing.

OP have you played the free demo?

I played the demo before it was released and wasn’t particularly impressed, but the demos seldom do the game justice anyway. The thing that did out me off was that it seemed really pushy in trying to get you into the buy page to pre-order, which just reinforced the idea the game was going to try aggressively sell add ons which is annoying. Pay to win puts me right off any game.

I’m not running 4k so development’s in that direction didn’t interest me. I wanted to see real effort into fixing the online mess as I’m basically bored of career mode. Forza 5 and 6 saw a ton of feedback on how to implement things to help make online better in terms of actual racing, but the development don’t really seem that interested, or didn’t anyway. It can honestly be that hard to implement licence levels based on experience combined with stats like average contacts per race, and whether they’re frontal impacts or not etc. You then need certain licences for certain lobbies and that would help filter racing styles and capabilites. Add in a monetary system where you need race winnings to develop cars, run them, and repair them, and persistent crashers will soon run out of funding to play online in ranked lobbies. Simply have unranked ones that allow any race with any car you own and the riff raff can go cause destruction in there. As the mechanism will all be I place, why not add in some crash modes anyway for people that can’t help themselves.

Basically, I’m looking for a game that plays like a decent attempt at a sim, and is built from the ground up to filter out the riff raff from the cream when playing online. When you get a good clean race and against other drivers of similar ability, previous forza games have been brilliant. Sadly these experience are so far apart I’ve simply lost a desire to play anymore, so if nothings changed in Forza 7, I’m not spending anymore cash in it.

You’re looking for Gran Turismo Sport then.

Forza Motorsport 7 can be enjoyable but Multiplayer hasn’t evolved much from what you have already experienced in Forza Motorsport 6.

I’m not sure if this may be useful to you or not but having hit 100% completion a while back I compiled some thoughts on the game.

not if you like racing upgraded cars in career.

If FM5 and FM6 put you off to Forza, than I would say based on my experience that there aren’t really any notable improvements in FM7 that would be likely to bring you back. There’s only one new track and a handful of truly new cars. I suppose the driving physics have been improved a bit and the graphics are great as would be expected.

However, the drivatars are as bad as ever and the difficulty slider only seems to adjust how much power handicap they have relative to you. Online stability is still poor and the servers go down semi-regularly. The locked cars are kind of annoying, especially since unlocking many of them requires dealing with the flaky online events. I’ve also had a LOT of crashes, far more than any other Forza game.

I’m actually pretty disappointed with this game myself. Not because it’s a bad game per se, but like others have said, Forza Motorsport is getting stale and the dev’s attempts to mix things up seem to have created more problems than they fixed. Not to mention that this level of bugginess should never be in a 1.0 release, especially not this long after launch.

New campaign is better than 5 and 6, you can also increase the number of laps and the improvements to the game made me uninstall the 2 previous chapters. There is no better racing game as of now on Xbox one so if you like racing games this is the best. If you prefer arcade racing games I suggest you forza horizon 3.
