It’s difficult to please everyone and t10 have been trying to do it for years with great success imo. But fm7 falls short on this in many ways and it fails to cater for most people’s needs whether it’s rivals, career or online there is something to complain about. That being said I don’t think it’s too hard to come to a satisfactory compromise that will please most people. Below is what i think could be done with little disruption to the way the games currently laid out.
Hoppers:
I don’t think introducing and removing class/division hoppers is a great way to do things. It discourages people from spending time building and tuning cars that will be what seems like a short time of usability. You can counter act this by having a rival that coincides with the hoppers but simply posting 1 track is not working either.
Solution:
Simply having a set of fixed hoppers isn’t going to work for everyone and it’s not inline with how the games set out. So it seems like We are stuck with this way of doing things. Introducing a full set of leaderboards for that hopper in the rival section with a specific time frame for when it will be taken down would be a great compromise. I think most people understand why there isn’t 12000 fixed leaderboards with replays to chase but surely there is scope to have as many as we did on fm6 all be it rotated every month or so. It also looks like our replays are being saved in freeplay so hopefully this can be linked with rivals when that division is featured as a hopper
This solution would please people who like to rival while keeping the hoppers fresh and varied. It would also add some structure to the current system rather than a hopper randomly disappearing after an undisclosed length of time. This could be further built on by offering the choice of hopper to the community via forum threads and official polls.
Fundamentally this hole idea depends on classes being made homologated. Currently if u race a car outside of homologation your time is posted on a board where every class of car is legal from e to x.
