Hot lapping

Forza 2 was where I started, Forza 3 was engrossed, had kids and didn’t take off on Forza 4.

Forza 5 now landed!

I like to hotlap for leaderboard ranking. I prefer it more to racing.

The menus from Forza 3 were untracked slick and these menus in Forza 5 are not great. (Or did I miss a meeting?)

Anyway, all I wanna do is be able to lap,… Decide to change setup and get straight back in again. How does this work?

Sure you can test setups in tune area, but these times do not make the leaderboards,…

Rivals,… Yeah great,… But cannot find a simple way to alter setups without leaving the entire area only to return back through the menus once more. Did I miss something here?

Also, didn’t we have ability to watch the top 100 times set on Forza 3?

Anyway, much appreciation for anyone offering advice.

Thanks in advance.

Untracked? Remove that,…

you already know the answer. You cant tune in rivals. You have to back out like you already have been doing.

In rivals, find the track in the class and press Y. this will bring up the leaderboard. Find player you wish to watch, press A → watch replay.

Not being able to tune in what is essentially a hot lap area of the game seems like utter madness.

Am I the only one confused by this?

Nope. Many share your feelings.

It wouldnt be so bad but the damn cutscenes before and after a race really exacerbate the issue.

Found the “watch replays” however, no onscreen data relating to speed, gears anything. That was always available to give a bit of an idea as to where to head up a setup toward.

Hmmm,…

there is no telemetry in replays on the leaderboard anymore.

If you are interested in what gears people use in what corner you can use cockpit view to see (car dependant). The rest, well, you need to go work that out.
