I have gotten past the second finale, and can say that there probably aren’t any more. The road trips/championships continue, but there is no more countdown from 15 like there was earlier. Also, every time the road trip returns to the festival, it says I am the Horizon Champion.
On a side note, I wish the Finale routes would be available for rivals.
Finale 2 is the last one, I am now at level 176 and there is not a single 15 championship countdown to be found. I been trying to play as much as I can, things about this game really bug me. The main thing is the cars having all kinds of issues and Turn 10 not caring. The only reason I bought FH2 after the disaster FM5 was due to me actually believing Turn 10 would spend the year getting the known mistakes right for the release of FH2. Crazy right? Instead we just got the same crap transferred from game to game. It’s hard to motivate yourself to find time to play when you know how lazy the game was put together, at least the details of the game. When you have a lot going on with your schedule you need extra motivation to put video games into your schedule. Turn 10 didn’t do much with FH2 for me to squeeze whatever free time I have into grinding races to buy cars. Neither FM5 or FH2 feel like a real next gen game. I feel like I bought 2 beta’s for what they really want to release in the future.
Dude you are a prime example of the worst gaming has to offer. If you hate video games don’t play them. I can’t even begin to address all of the absurd comments here.
Oh really, I’m 52 and can read just fine…been driving a real car longer than you have been born, you have obviously over played the game in too short a period of time…take a break or get a new hobby…your whinning is hurting my eyes!!!
Not trying to pile on, Alloy, just trying to add a little perspective here.
The reason you’re getting dogpiled is not necessarily that you have a complaint about the game (although personally I think your complaints have no merit), but it’s actually because you’re ranting about Turn10 when they don’t make the Horizon games. Playground Games makes them. If you’re going to demean the hard work of two of the best developers in gaming you should at least know who makes what.
I don’t know when was the last time you checked out FM5. I agree with everyone that it was released unfinished and lacks a lot of content, especially if you make the common mistake of comparing it to FM4, which was the pinnacle before a new console came out. FM5 was unfinished and so was the console. Both have improved immensely since launch and FM5 is the best Next-Gen console racing sim there is. The free DLC tracks (esp. the several layouts of Road America and the amazing new Nurburgring and 'Ring GP) and the DLC cars, plus the awesome addition of drivatars, have really improved the experience. It’s a fantastic game and I can’t wait for 6. For the record, I’ve bought every car pack in FM3, 4, and 5; but I’ve never spent any money on micro-transactions and no one has to in order to enjoy themselves or make tons of money. You even get all the DLC cars in your garage without spending in-game money on them. That’s awesome.
Horizon 2 is leaps and bounds better than FH1. The new hub system and championships for each category of car is a brilliant idea, and the online experience with friends is fantastic. I don’t see how you could complain about anything in FH2, to be honest; least of all “detail.” But, to each his own. It’s addictive as can be. At level 212 I’ve done 377 races, I have 124 cars in my garage (the majority of which are tuned and have my personal liveries on them), I’ve completed 78 Road Trips, 328 championship races, completed 78 of 168 championships, completed a championship in every category of car at least once, and I still have tons to do. That’s not even counting the awesome multiplayer with my clubmates and friends.
When you level criticisms at one developer who a) didn’t make Horizon and b) had to rush Motorsport out unfinished with an unfinished console, and then also bash the game that wasn’t even made by them with criticisms few people believe are valid, you get responses like the ones above.
Sorry you’re unhappy, but you should reflect on just how much work goes into these products and show a little gratitude. Just look at some of the other launches and broken features in other AAA titles and gain a little perspective, maybe?
Or put another way, look at the lack of detail in Turn 10’s Forza Horizonsport:
Everyone understand what you’re saying. However you’re not meant to be level 178 a week after the game comes out. You’re not supposed to own every car that fast. It’s a journey, they want you to keep racing. Not just get a mill, buy 5 cars and drive none of them.
Win a bit, buy car, race car, enjoy the scene rinse and repeat with new vehicle.
Well said, racing games used to be games that took months to beat. Gran Turismo anyone? Now everyone thinks they need it now and have no understanding of what working for anything means. Not only is that not how games work but that’s not how life in general works. Work hard and you’ll get there. I’m tired of this I need it now attitude. If you could have it all now you wouldn’t play longer than a week would you? Replay value is important to games like this. Its also what turned me off of games like Call of Duty. Everyone knows they practically produce a new one every 6-12 months. Very little replay value and it also drives the trade-in values WAY down. Notice how Forza 4 is still $30 used? Modern Warfare 3, which came out the same year, is $9. (both prices are according to GameStop’s website).
Can you point me in the direction of a racing game with better gameplay? I enjoy cars, I pretty much only play racing games. When you don’t have much of an option, you play by default. I enjoy the entertainment of FH2, but hate how poor the fine the details are. It’s like having a car that’s insanely fast, fun to drive, but looks like crap when you look at it. Gameplay in “next gen” racing games should be secondary, the detail of the cars should be the heart of the game. We didn’t spend $400 on a console to get the same missing parts, terrible aliasing in cockpit view, designs not fully covering the body of cars, inaccurate car sounds, and so on. All of that stuff should be way more refined compared to games on 10 year old hardware and this game is simply not. Like I said, it looks like a beta for the new console. If this is the absolute best Turn 10 can do with a game on the XBO I will smash mine right now. I will give them the benefit of not believing that and calling it a beta.
Grind races? Lol…
Im on xbox one, not even 150 races done yet (including online) im level 98, with 9 million cash, 4.5 mill ypgrade value and a garage value of 14.9 million
This is maybe because i have vip, but still even half that for less than 150 races isnt bad, especially as there are very few cars over a million
Online road tripping. Made 750k yesterday on leveling up and wheel spins. Spent an hour just hanging out with friends and meeting new people. Not a bad way to grind some creds. Just my two cents since you didn’t ask.
