First off, im not sure if this post can be separate from the thread that has multiple car inaccuracies listed mixed into the same thread. I wanted tocmake a single thread based off one car. Unlike the FM thread that used to be called “FM Issues” but is now called “Car Models.”
Based off a Youtubers video that showed the 2018 Type R, it appears to NOT be the one from Horizon 5. The model used in Horizon 5 is actually much better than Motorsports model. But instead, from whatbI can see, is that the FM model was ported over for FH6, and if that is the case, it is completely wrong. Might as well bring the FH5 model back. Supposedly my thread on the FM pages was being investigated as if they would fix the car with a patch. It never happened. That was early 2024.
Off the images I will show here, I’m seeing the same exact grayish brown and also matte-like finish for the front grille and garnishes and eyelids. All those plastics should be pitch black and glossy.
I noticed the rear garnishes have a charcoal-ish reflector, when in real-life it is straight up red. Front side marker should be much more orange too, but instead its like a brownish orange in-game.
Looks like the factory lip kit (ground effects) is all carbon fibered out with a shiny clear coat. In real life, it is just a pitch black piece of plastic that has a weave-like texture on it. Its not real weaving. Its just a top texture, and it ia also rough feeling.
It’s hard to tell in the FH6 image I posted, but if it follows the FM model, then it incorrectly has a white pinstripe when it is supposed to be red. The front lip and rear lip pin stripe are also red in real life. Its hard to see in the image if they exist or not.

Honestly, if the black plastics can actually be pitch black and glossy like they SHOULD be, I’ll be fine. And make sure the red pin stripe around the entire ground effects is there. It’s hard to tell in the video i watched and in my screenshots. Oh, and not having shiny carbon fiber parts that should be black plastic. It all just looks extra tacky with brownish gray exterior plastics. Makes the car look incredibly stupid. I was really looking forward to driving my real-life car again in-game, but if it’s like the FM model, I’ll avoid it like the plague again. Owning a car and seeing how ridiculously stupid it is in one of your favorite games just honestly makes me not care to drive it.
