Holden Commodore racing 1988-1997

This topic is for racing spec versions of the VN, VP, VR, and VS.

the VN was a great seller here in australia, but it’s most famous guise is the HSV VN group A, developed for group A touring car racing here in australia. this thing was an absolute monster, and seeing peter brock hustle the thing around, trying his best to put pressure on the godzilla GTR’s is a famous sight.

we’ve had the VK group A, and the VL group A, so why not complete the set?

That Group A racing 1991 Mobil VN Commodore with a 5 liter Holden 304 cubic inch V8 that was driven by Peter Brock in the 1991 Australian Touring Car Championship ( Pre V8 Supercars ) revved to 9100 rpm, in the early states of the seasons, it was later reduced to 8500 rpm for reliability reason, but its still the best sounding V8 to race down under, it was screaming V8 symphony at its best

back in 1995, just after the VR commodore released, holden and peter brock entered the car in the round australia trial. although brocks car finished poorly, the sister car of ed ordynski actually won the rally. the car beat out nissan patrols, mitubishi pajeros, and even a mix of galant VR4s and lancer evos.
