I may be a little late in coming to the dance, but I am having a lot of fun with this game. Easy question. What is the benefit of hiring a driver? Thanks in advance for your input.
It has an AI run the race for you so you don’t have to do it. It’s essentially pointless outside of having the AI grind through the career mode for you if you hate playing it.
It’s a nice feature for a track you particularly don’t like or aren’t very good on. Just make sure you give the driver a good car. It was handy in FM3 for the endurance races. You could let them grind it out while you did other things!
To me it was only used so i could use the washroom and complete a race at the same time. Then i realized the end result is less credits, no affinity points and no real advancement to career other then completing a single race. I never used it a second time.
It might be a challenge/achievement to hire a driver once so give it a try but once you understand it youll prolly decide against it unless you dont have time/ interest in completing events. Non of the events list events are even long enough to want to use it, im not sure but i think if its a double heat you still have to be present to move to second heat even.
If it was flight simulator auto pilot would be ok, but as its a racing simulator no auto pilot. Thats just scary. Haha
I remember way back in Forza 1 you could hire and train a “drivatar,” which was actually a pretty cool feature at the time. Anyway, I hired “him” only once to run a race. The drivatar won the race but in the end the car was a wreck and you had to pay the drivatar a “fee” to run the race, which ended up being a large percentage of the remaining credits. Never bothered with the feature after that.
