I have a friend whose PB in terms of XP was 21,000
And theyâre on Xbox console so absolutely not hacking.
ok, thatâs fine, but there are WELL KNOWN CHEATERS near the top of this embarrassing childrens game leaderboard
Itâs largely distance based and Iâm glad to hear from them that itâs limited within each match, iirc they said 22k or something close to that. The average mentioned is likely also attainable by convoying in to get the highest distance within each match.
In 300 some games played, one had a seeker in a Bronco with a top downloaded livery.
I ran into several of the players from the top bit of the leaderboard playing hard which was refreshing.
Seriously, what were the guys at Turn 10 thinking when they created this game mode?
Thatâs the most broken, unfair and boring game mode ever made in a racing game.
Playing as a Seeker is simply frustrating and desperate, the Hider just has to run around the edges of the map the entire game and he wins, without giving the Seekers any chance.
The Hiderâs cars are minimally slower than the Seekersâ cars, to the point of being even faster than the Seekersâ RWD options.
And what about the Pursuit Breaker? Your car just stop and goes with 10% of the power, while the Hider just go brrrrrrr and disappear invisible and untouchable on the map. All of that for what? 30 seconds to use it again LOL when you finally found him, if you find.
4 minutes to find the Hider, while in reality you waste 3, if not all 4, trying to find the Hider who is running desperately around the map while you try to locate him with the most useless compass in the history of mankind.
This mode is simply a way to stroke one playerâs ego while the other 4/5 are absurdly frustrated.
The 2nd time I played as the Hider, I completed the challenge of winning without being detected, why? I simply just keep running in the edge of the map freely and used 1 time the Pursuit Breaker when someone get a bit close to me.
And what about the locations they chose for the events to happen?
In Guanajuato, all you have to do is take a wrong turn and you will never catch up with the Hider and his car that only seems to be slower than yours.
In MulegĂ©, if you canât identify, with the same crappy compass, whether the Hider is inside or outside the Horizon Station, you will never catch up with him for the rest of the game.
And Playa Azul is simply the worst of all. In addition to the probability of having to run in fog, not to mention the crappy compass, the Hider can simply run between the edges and forests and you will never reach him, because if you get even remotely close⊠SIKEEEEEEEEEE! You will simply be stopped by a car to drive away invisible and untouchable.
I will simply complete the accolades and never play this mode again in my life, not even in the Festival Playlist.
And while Iâm at it: Have any of the developers of this crappy mode ever played Hide and Seek? That has nothing to do with it. Itâs more like the most frustrating chase experience of your entire life.
And if all this wasnât frustrating enough for the Seekers, the Hider can even see the Seekers on the mini-map, just to keep running freely to keep distance. Seriously? Whatâs the logic behind this? Donât the Hiders already have enough of an advantage? Why not add a proximity detection system thatâs as useless as the Seekersâ compasses?
I used to think that the Eliminator was an unfair mode, because you have to learn, on your own, how to drive around the edges of the map and know in advance where the final race will be, not to mention the luck factor of finding good cars at the exchange points, because it seems very fair to me that someone can start with a level 10 car just for the sake of it.
But this mode makes the Eliminator seem like the most balanced and fun game mode in the entire history of Forza Horizon.
Note: while making this post, i already won a second time was a Hider without being detected running on the edge of the map again, and didnât use the Pursuit GOD Breaker LOL
When I saw that this game mode had a separate leveling system from the regular Multiplayer, I wondered why.
Now I understand. This is too horrible to be included with the other game modes.
Meh. Itâs only good as a seeker when you have other seekers who know what theyâre doing. A room full of newcomers will always be advantageous for the hider. I do agree with most of your points though.
I love hide and seek. Especially playing as a seeker. Chasing is challenging and fun. Whatâs not fun is getting hit by chase breaker 3 times per game. But it feels great when you have a good teammate who can keep up with a hider because then we can take turns on who is getting hit by chase breaker and who is filling the detection bar.
I hate playing as a hider. There is no challenge. Itâs like a chore. I played about 450 games so far and lost as a hider only 3 times.
I would love to play with players similar to my skill level. I actually really hope that in fh6 skill based matchmaking will be a thing.
The honest and accurate review we all needed.
Maybe too dramatic, but canât disagree with most of the points.
PS. IMO, if developers would call that game mode âcat & mouseâ, it would suit it much better and probably would have less negative reviews. I still mostly try to play it as hide&seek, but in current state is almost impossible.
fun fact: Even one of the announcers is shouting âwelcome to the game of mouse and catsâ at beginning of the round.
âCat & Mouseâ would indeed be better but not as marketable I would guess.
I really do hope that an update is implemented sooner than later to address the obvious issues repeatedly discussed in this thread. I wonât build my hopes too high though.
the first Horizon had a mode called cat and mouse, I donât remember it well enough to say if itâs similar, though
You can choose by take the correct car see the faq Q: What cars will be available to play with on Hide & Seek?
Played twice so far for the past two Playlist entries. The first time I was a seeker in Guanajuato and we failed miserably because, well, itâs Guanajuato. This gameâs been out a few years and I still get turned around in there on a regular basis. Second time I was a hider in Playa Azul and failed miserably. I didnât see a single traffic car, so I couldnât even pretend to be one, and it was so wide open that I couldnât get away from the seekers.
Anyone wants to do forum convoy? Mics not necessary, Iâm just curious how it would work with ânot randomâ people.
PS. Apparently you can visit this square
PS2. Iâve no respect for people hugging edge of the arena. Pathetic.
Yes, thereâs an alleyway and the sidewalk you have pointed out to access that square. Iâm online for a bit.
Map from in the square:
The Hide and Seek achievements have been posted on TrueAchievements. They should be available with the update for Series 39. 6 of the 10 match accolades, 2 others have stats tracked under badges. Didnât see the wins as Hider and Seeker tracked anywhere in the stats.

This has probably already been asked and answered, and if so, I apologize, but, will our time and accomplishments that we have already done count towards the achievements, or do we need to do all this again?
The last time they added achievements, the ones related to stories and accolades popped without needing to do them again. Iâm going to try to complete the requirements for everything and hope they all pop next week after the update goes live.
With about 100 games in, I like the game mode, but here would be my list of things that could be implemented:
- Give the hider a limited amount of chase breakers to make running away harder.
- Or ping the hider for everyone, once the hider reaches a certain amount of distance to encourage the hider to actually hide.
- Make the hider car less obvios in traffic. So front Number plates and for some cars even different headlights (Chevy Silverado)
just noticed on TrueAchievements but theyâre not showing on the Xbox just yet
