I’m not impressed with the manner in which Patrick Long announces in Anthology event races - it’s almost as of he’s having a conversation with one of this buddies he doesn’t like and he speaks so softly. In most of his announcements you get the impression that he’s really unhappy to be doing the voiceovers for the game, or just couldn’t care less.
He’s a race car driver, not a TV personality. I loved those little touches myself.
Because he sounds like he’s mumbling to himself like most of the time, I just skip it. Let’s keep the race car driver dialog presentations professional going forward, yes?
I liked it. depends on who’s listening I guess
Long was in a big crash in the Pirelli World Challenge this weekend:

but was okay: https://twitter.com/EFFORTRacing/status/706574804124508160
I hear both sides of that argument on the tone of some of the voiceovers. My take is that they are casual by nature since these guys are not voiceover actors, they are drivers.
Their level of enthusiasm is different than that of the racing fan since they do this on a day to day basis. Personally I think it adds a sense of realism to hear them just speaking matter of factly about the cars.
Enjoy folks! I for one am loving the cars and VIR, it’s like a new game all together.
