Awesome car, the Challanger is one of my favorite modern and classic muscle cars. Plus the car that launched the name the 1959 Dodge Silver Challenger is one of the best looking American car of the 50’s.
Enjoyed the story. I like ‘sleepers’: those who keep their cars appearing as original as possible but hiding a hungry beast under the hood. The car is beautiful. Especially enjoyed Jonathans’s own story of being chased, giving chase then finishing up and devouring a Shelby GT500. Keep 'em coming Johni!
Trust me, if I could get my hands on a classic Mopar and I had the cash to do so, I would do it without hesitation. I am a sucker for late 60’s early 70’s Mopar muscle.
This is my passion, thank you guys for taking the time to allow me to share it with you. Thanks again for all the support!
Johniwanna, thank you, for the time and effort you took to write this amazing article and share it with the Forza community.
WOW… such a nice car… with Winter upon us for what seems like forever now… It make me wish for the summer breeze blowing in the windows…But, for now I will settle for a run in My 392…
DAMN that’s a nice Challenger, ive seen some pretty cool looking challengers but not one with blue strips. Ive seen 2013 Shelby’s with blue, red and gray strips and they look fantastic, but this challenger though. I wouldn’t say that this challenger can defeat Mustangs, it can might be able to stand against a 2013 Shelby , but the 2012 and below mustangs, yeah its capable. It also looks good next to the launch edition viper =D( ive seen one of those around the corner). I would buy this beautiful challenger, cause its rare, then buy a 13 Shelby( cause it looks mean as hell and that power and torque =D).Chrysler makes pretty cool cars like ford. does anyone else think ford should bring back the GT??

I love the way the Challenger looks. I wish I had the money to upgrade a car like that, but alas I have student loans to pay back. Maybe one day when I have a long beard and can no longer legally drive I will be able to :).

I have never seen a Challenger in my life. But this is one of the most beautiful i can imagine of the paint, the upgrades, the astonishing power its good to see people expressing their love for cars. Too bad i dont have a car

hi,amazing your “bianca” ,Slyter Khan. question? is the handle of the 392 still better than they from ur mazda3 with his 594 rwhp? I hope not;)
Thanks for love race cars like us,and the mixt of the cars you hd possess is cool too,1 thing 's sure you converted a new Mopar fan.
thanks to you johnny for this great hmA,another good guy another cool story,
As one of the “minority” Dodge owners in the UK, I’ve developed a Mopar soft spot.
That is one nice Challenger. Can’t really call it a wolf in sheep’s clothing, more a vicious, slathering, beast of a wolf in a normal wolf’s clothing!!
Love it!
Haha, when I say “sleeper” I always use the quotes, it’s not quite a sleeper by the strictest definition but I have been striving to keep her as externally stock appearing as possible.
BTW, I love that picture from Jalopnik, I know that guy had to be crapping bricks at that moment. LOL
I tried to get stationed in Europe, specifically the UK, but I wasn’t fortunate enough to get it. I would love to have brought my Bianca to the UK since they are extremely rare outside the US.
Salute! And thanks to Jonathan “JT” Toney, aka Slyther Khan for his Air Force service and for generating a lot of excitement for the Forza Community.
I spent many wonderful years in the Air Force and had several cars worthy of Forza that I drove everyday among my various duty stations. A couple I had to leave with my wife while overseas like JT.
My favorites were the 1965 Ford Mustang, 1968 Dodge Charger, 1973 Dodge Charger, 1982 Saab 900 Turbo, and currently 2007 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. All were purchased brand new. After the Saab were a couple of Nissan Maximas and an Infiniti SUV.
I took on Johniwanna’s challenge added the full kit of parts and twin-turbo to the Forza 5’s 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 resulting in 907 HP, 800 LB-FT torque, and weighing 3,317 Lbs with a PI of S726. Beating many S800 drivers in each race too.
For comparison, my stock 1965 Mustang 289 ran the quarter mile 14.784 seconds at 93.3 MPH. Same elapsed-time but half-as-fast as the Dodge did the 1/2 mile.
Great HMA article, John! A twin-turbocharged 392 Challenger that’s putting out 800 HP to the wheels and made a Mustang owner switch over to the Challenger, nice job Slyther! And thank you for serving our country!
I, too, took Johniwanna’s challenge and made my own using every part listed in the spec sheet (or close to it), even the tires! It puts out the same amount of power, except with less torque.
