I’ve had a truly horrifying idea, of making a thing that would capture car ID, PI, track ID and best time, and send it automagically to a Google Doc. I don’t think that mere mortals are supposed to wield such power.

Well, I made a working prototype for fun, but there are 3 main issues:

  • There is no way to tell what game mode is on. It’s a limitation of the telemetry, I don’t know how to go beyond it.
  • There is no way to tell if a time is clean or dirty. Same as above.
  • It requires a computer to run. Which I guess is only a potential problem for console players.

It was a fun experiment though.
