Since Gulf Racing is one of the most iconic names in motorsports and the fact that I love the Ferrari Enzo I decided to make a paint job that shows what I think a Gulf Racing Enzo would look like. The quality of the paint is pretty good considering this is my first time making a paint where I didn’t get the logos off the storefront. Looks good but I would try and avoid stock font. Especially with a design that has been done so much. Think about all the Gulf paints out there, it is custom lettering etc. that really makes some stand out from the pack.
I will try to use custom lettering in my next paints. But do you still use custom fonts if the fonts provided by forza has a similar look to the font in the actual logo?
Yeah if it’s close enough use stock font but the thing is that numbers and other such things really look better when done custom.
you can use stock fonts in certain situations but you have to be very very careful… unfortunately with logos everyone recognizes them so if it’s a little off it just looks a miss sometimes… while you’re getting used to custom fonts you could always use the stock fonts for certain letters and add layers over them to change them slightly i.e… s’s, e’s, some g’s… careful with o’s, n’s, m’s and h’s they stretch awkward always look distorted trying to fit them in without custom… it’s more work but worth it in the end
