I think much of the complaints people have will not be addressed by the time the game releases unfortunately. But knowing T10 the game will still be amazing.
-Whats with the 180 wheel animations, I cannot believe that isn’t being fixed! The hands look extra stiff this time too.
-I like the new level of detail in the cockpit, but the shaky windshield wipers are way to over the top
-The trailers seeming advertises pits stop animations, but I come to find out that will not be happening
-I really wish T10 would create a lighting engine that is more representative of real world lighting, its still way over saturated.
-Digital foundry has spoke about all the cars being fully rendered with XoneX where as typically they have less polygons especially opponent vehicles, Video prof shows they may be downgraded in races just as before.
-They have a new system about people cutting corners in MP but nothing about rammers, that should be the most pressing of all the issues. And an ability to boot bad players.
-smoke effects look as bland as ever.
-What is the deal with the foliage, the cut out trees of FM6 are back and look as bad as ever.
-Shadows still are baked, if you notice the shadows on the concrete barriers when a car comes close,t looks as if the shadow is casting down on the car even if its shorter then the car. And sometimes shadows don’t cast on other objects.
-More tracks>More cars. 30 tracks is pretty weak, and I guarantee many of those haven’t changed since 6. It should be no less then 40 and not limited in DLC.
-What’s with the cheesy rock music in the menus?
-I really really hope their is a cockpit view camera aimed at the driver for replays. Especially since their is an emphasis on the driver now
+I do like how exterior parts move such as exhaust and spoilers, but will other cars on the track have the same effect? Doesn’t look like it, so now it looks the players car has mechanical issues.
+good to see the auction house back I hope I can gift cars to my buds
+I like that their is dynamic weather, but how many tracks actually utilize this and to what extent?
+I am so happy about the real world skybox hopefully that is applied to all tracks, gives each a far more realistic look then a static sky.
+Sound effects are as amazing as ever.
+body kits
+new campaign aimed at using all this awesome cars.
I agree with most of you’re points but do disagree with a few.
I don’t think a “hope” that there is a cockpit view camera in replays can be construed as a negative as we don’t know about replays yet, though there has been confirmation of improvements in that department I believe.
The “cheesy rock music” is completely subjective to taste and if you don’t like it you can use Groove Music to create you’re own playlists for the music, which I think is a positive.
I don’t think 30 tracks is weak at all considering all these tracks are in 4K I believe and I may be wrong on this I thought it was said to be 30+ tracks so there could be more (please correct me if I’m wrong there) also there are around 200 layouts and this is the most layouts and tracks we’ve had in any Forza title before.
I believe the new multiplayer rules do combat wreckers to an extent though I do agree it doesn’t seem that it will help with those guys who just want to deliberately grief.
I also feel stuff like the shadows, trees and lighting is more subjective imo. I love the way the game looks now. Agreed baked shadows aern’t the best but I guess they had to do something to make sure they hit 60FPS on all 3 consoles.

On the official FM page and through interviews it says Master 30 racing environments with over 200 ribbons, not more than 30. Which I think is decent if they add to older tracks (weather/time of day) But that also means they are sacrificing some tracks. And unless they actually use those layouts it wont make a difference. FM6 had about 140+ ribbons and in the campaign you rarely say any of that variety.
I understand they have to hit 60fps on all consoles too so it does make sense about the lighting, but it still is over saturated IMO
And you also make a good point about the music, that can always be changed on my own.
Where is the night racing?
And I apologize I heard in an interview it was over 30 tracks, must have misheard, however 30 is still a lot and 60 more ribbons than FM6 is a sizable upgrade too. As for lighting I can’t really tell as I’m colorblind lol.
Nothing to apologize about my friend, I appreciate you impute. Lets just put it this way they can make other tracks have more value with night, weather, ect. So we will see!
-No word yet on point to point racing, whether that be Fujimi or some kind of Pike’s Peak announcement, etc… point to point is the origin of racing, and going on 3 games now (7 included in that 3) without a point to point/hill climb/downhill track, is a crime. Those tracks are what got me into Forza to begin with…
-Not fixing any nagging MP issues, not addressing corner cutters, rammers, etc… Not offering any kind of driver rating system to help separate people who care from the bumper cars.
-Too focused on 4k, 60fps. As much as Dan likes to go on about optimizing to higher spec equipment helps the lower, that’s a lie, that’s not how optimization works. I’m going to be playing on my plain old xbone like the majority of players, or on my PC which is comically more powerful than the Xbone X. But neither will be on a 4k screen, like the vast majority of people. I get the feeling that we are going to get downgraded graphics as a side effect of the 4k 60fps. This is mostly the Xbone X’s fault and MS pushing T10 to have 4k @ 60 fps.
-Lack of new features or any reason to be excited for this game, no VR announce, just big car list, “30” tracks mostly old ones. Just some word about another SP campaign that sounds meh with no real information. No real update to the MP. Because of the Xbone X, this is starting to sound like a launch title list of features.
+Porsche on launch, thank God.
+Forza cars coming from FH3 which is nice.
+Sounds like some more Horizon events are coming through.
+We don’t know anything about the game… This is both negative and positive. They may have big news in store for us still.
It’s hard to get excited for “possible” announcements though. If the game moves forward the way it is now and nothing real changes, no major track announcements past the “new” one we’ve seen… I may pass on Forza this time. I probably won’t, I love all racing games, but PCars2 comes out before hand and GTS comes out slightly after. I can wait for an expansion pack or 2 to actually get Forza…
I know there will people with gripes and some may be legitimate but looking through the features list on this website I’m general happy with is being done to the game. I don’t think I got everything I wanted in the game but it looks promising.
Looking through the article on this website, News - Forza, It does say “30+ environments” in one spot and “more than 30 racing environments” in another. I’m assuming environments means track locations. I am guess there will be 31. I have a list based on tracks already in the game and the new ones already revealed. There may be more.
I am a little surprised that Maple Valley is coming back. It is a fictional course.
I hope dynamic time of day is added. It isn’t mentioned but I can always hope. It was high on my wish list.
I hope they increase the garage size. The game has over 700 cars and we know more will be added.
I love the FM series and I like the initial reports on the game. I will most likely buy the game.
The configurations are surely going to be inflated by the weather conditions options. I hope we see more tracks with the options as so many just weren’t done for rain or night in 6, and i wonder if the dynamic weather stuff we have seen will be just for a handful of tracks as well. I really hope not as it is the main new feature we are seeing. I don’t think they can market 4k as a feature to excuse not adding more tracks, given that it will only actually affect those of us crazy enough to go X
I completely agree that there have been a lot improvements on the face of it. But what worries me is
that they are leaning to much on the Horizon installment which frankly to me seems a bad since I’m
not necessarily impressed with the gimmicky features that are all over the FH versions of Forza.
Still massively dissapointed by the 180 degree lock-to-lock steering radius. That is something everybody
has been requesting since FM4 and it’s reasonable to say that after 5/6 years this should have been fixed
by now.
Regarding the car count, sure those are a lot of cars, but a lot are those horrible Australian cars that you
literally never drive. And I’m not sure whether that count includes those Forza special editions which are
just versions of the same car to inflate the carcount.
I’m just saying, wait till you really see what you get…
Well, I will reserve my judgement until some reviews and more gameplay vids start rolling out closer to release date.
But I am seriously disappointed with the toy car wheel animation that stops at 90 degrees flat. Looks like I’ll be skipping the cockpit view again if I decide to get the game.
Lighting can be so much better - I fantasize about the day when Forza will finally embrace photorealism, but it’s not happening for now.
There’s no talk at all about how the physics have changed, improved or evolved since 6. I suppose the focus again will be on lots of cars and stuff to do in the game which really is a shame, because Forza has EVERYTHING you could want in a car/driving/racing game but it refuses to address core aspects that would give it a leg up in the simulation world.
Oh well, at the end of the day, majority wins. I was actually planning to preorder but I don’t know. F7 seems like an updated 6 with dynamic ToD and a select few additional features. Issues form 6 haven’t really been addressed.
Could someone from the development team tell me WHY the wheel animation is not being addressed? I’m really curious now… does it cut into graphic HP? Will it impact the 60 fps lock?
